Replica livery question for the pros.

 

Would it be possible to create this livery given the layer limit?

Yes, you should be able to do it if you're able to keep the count on the custom logos down.

your biggest problem you'll find with the Porsches is the way the rear arches can stretch/distort a logo due to the mapping the devs used to create the car model in the game.

I'll second that. The rounded rear end distorts something that may look okay at eye level, but as you rise higher, it will distort massively. The prettier and rounder the fender, the harder to do precise work on it.

The rear quarter under the GMG logo will be quite hard to work with. You may want to toss something on it and see how the model plays with it, and then do a little redesign around it. An hour of thought might save you three on the car.

keep in mind that when you do just the artwork of that design and tranfer it from left side to right that you adjust the right side by moving it 2 clicks forward and one click down. that will place the right side in its proper place. this will help you keep track of the curves in the body as you plant your liverys. also I build my own guide so I can keep track of how and where to plant my liverys. my advice is to make your design smaller than the car,this will make the fight of distortion much easier to work with. that back corner panal of gmg is the toughest part of that car to paint. I would us a template of that and finish it on the car. this I would do in forza3 than tranfer that livery to forza4. The light in forza 4 makes it very hard to create that project on the car. also like jason said, drop the high quilty of smaller liverys to be able to keep that design under 1000 vinyl groups.    Template, well,that is where I mark the curves of the body where it ends. like marking the top of right side of car where it ends and the top of car begins. painting them cars with them curves are tough, but just only means how much time you would like to spend on painting them, this is why I use a template, to change a staight line and change it to the curve of the car.

Thanks for the tips painkiller! I've not had a shot to get at this since my 2 year old damaged my FM4 disc. sad

Been playing Borderlands 2 and FIFA 13 on PS3 and will try to hold out on replacing it until the FUC is announced...
