So i have spent endless hrs trying to get this game to where i can actually say iam starting to enjoy it!
Ill post the links shortly!
I found a controller tweak guide that brings the logitech wheels to life, absolutley awesome! i can feel everything thats going on
graphic tips and mods, a better head movement tweak, and one that keeps the horizon relevantly still while still shaking the car so your eyes arent bounching all over
and best of all a SOUND tweak so i can finally hear my tires
these were all tweaks to the controller and player.ini. files
Any interest in running a mx5 or skoda series either here or at race2play? I would have liked to run the gbr series but there times just don't work for me....I was thinking of a time between 11 am -2pm gmt CDN which is 6-9pm UK...ill let guys suggest the days
Cheers
Oh yes lol its almost exactly the same as the tips offered at gbr, just a couple I didn't see like the sound
http://www.apexracingleague.com/showthread.php?1579-rFactor-Tweaks
In your player.plr file find these lines and change them
Vehicle Scrubbing VolMult="0.0000710352" //"0.0000610352" Vehicle Scrubbing FreqGrip="-0.25000" Vehicle Scrubbing FreqSpeed="0.00195" Vehicle Skidding VolMult="0.0002220703" //"0.0001220703" Vehicle Skidding FreqGrip="-0.25000" Vehicle Skidding FreqSpeed="0.00195" Vehicle Roadnoise VolSpeed="32.00000" Vehicle Roadnoise VolMult="0.0000080000" //"0.0000050000" Vehicle Roadnoise FreqMin="0.80000" Vehicle Roadnoise FreqMult="0.00391"
Another thing I've noticed in your rfactor config. File newer CPU are not reading the game properly
Find the lines and change to the appropriate
CPU rating =5
CPU RAM=what ever your system has in mb
Video RAM = whatever your video card has in mb
Texture detail=5
Object detail=5
Run bench mark=1
Shader detail=5
This is for people with modern powerful CPU ...for older ones replace 5 with a number between 1-3
I've found a mod that could make. For a great series :)
I ran it for about an hr before work today and everything seem to be pretty good! Got the tracks set up iam just gonna test it a bit more and if if everything works to plan ill pitch it to the guys at gbr and see if we could possibly run it in the thurs bi weekly or sat morning slot.
I'll post a Google drive file with all the attachments if its good to go and will test it to see if others approve.....iam pretty excited about it and think a lot of guys will like it to! :)
Cheers
2011 BTCC Series Mod with all the cars from that year!
Ive also put together an offical track pack from what i thought were the best looking tracks available with the highest score @rfactorcentral
Ive tested the mod for the past 6hrs working out all the kinks i was having some issues with crashes and freezing but i believe ive worked out all the kinks ive tested every car on every track and everything seems to be fine now....only thing ive noticed in cockpit mod in the vectra there is a strange blur/shadow at the bottom of the screen? but disapears with a camera change.
As for the mod it looks great! sound is good but i felt could be better, FFB some cars feel great some feel a bit weak...ive noticed some of the weaker ones have ffb upgrades available.
I also went ahead and created a controller.ini. file which i thought was better than the stock.....I havent tried adding the real feel.plugin so feel free to add that and compare
The beemers and other rwd cars are quite controllable on this tracks unlike race 07 and feel quit nice with a few tweaks, some of the fwd cars will take some getting use and others are awesome....only takes a few laps and some easy twaeking to get them in place.
First things i noticed while testing the cars is the brake pressure was way to strong causing lock ups and slides i dropped the pressure to 75% and it was fine
Fwd cars seemed to wash out in corners...easily solved by raising the suspension stiffness 2 clicks f/b rear arb and ride height 1 click.
I did a 10 lap race with 20ai pretty intense and sounded awesome! everything looked inplace and the cars felt pretty planted when bumped or rearended.
Id like to get a few people together and run this mod to see if we can catch any glitches or serious problems.
I know theres a few BTCC leagues running this mod as i was watching them on youtube so it should work lol........and in all honesty iam about 100% sure its a rip of race 07 and is illegal, but hence my GT iam not too concerned hopefully Dark wont report me ;)
So if enough guys like it and are interested id like to start a bi weekly series
Not entirely sure what the rfactor dedicated servers are capable of but what i was thinking.....
10 min qualifying follwed by 3 x 15 min races with reverse griding after race 1.....not sure if rf1 has ballast or not but this mod for every car can purchase ballast in the upgrade section...but again not exactly sure how that would work.....top 3 overall leaders always have ballast to keep the field close? will figure something out
Yup...BMW, Audi and Toyota they all feel pretty nice and I've found if your ass gets out you can't control a slide and recover :)
Iam thinking I might go rwd with this one !
Is it crashing at a certain point or random? Have u been able to run at Donnington at all? I'll try another Donnington....i take it u were in the seat.....I have 2 more btcc Mods to test...1 ran fine but had an annoying sound glitch that ill see if a fresh install can cure and another one with tracks that have been tested for mismatches...wish someone would just give permission to make a legal btcc mod
K ive scrapped the last MOD from above ive found a new one with all the tracks included in the download, theres also a patch file as well just extract your gamedata folder to your fresh new rf1 install.
NOTE: This mod is very sensitive! It needs a fresh new install, it also wont support xd, map pluggins or any other pluggins and other tracks just whats in the google document! plus this is a sim not an arcade real race cars dont have that shit just drive! ;)
Ive also added a controller ini. file to improve the ffb feel free to tinker with it....if its too strong or too weak just adjust the ffb slider in game to your liking.
Start a new gamer file than just copy/paste controller/multiplayer files etc.
As long as we dont try adding anything and just run whats given to you this mod should run well and be hella fun!
For those of you that wanna try the FFB file included please set your wheel to tthe following:
Profiler
Overall strength 105%
Spring Dampner 5%
Dampner effect 5%
Click enable centre spring 5%
Ingame setting
Force feedback=wheel
Strength=40-80% your liking
FFB effects=full
Rates Wheel 25-50 % i run 25% and i find it gives more feel in the flex of the tires....higher makes it feel harder with less feel.....just MOA
This one seems okay so far, sure it's the same car mod...there is a sound glitch that makes some of the gear changes sound like a pistol shot, and that was in the last one too. My Coffeedrops seat is not included so I once again claim the solitary seat :)
I was getting a weird clicking sound when driving that drove me nuts, then I realized my setting was on intermediate and i beleive it was the traction control....once I switched to veteran it was gone. Like I said the sound and ffb in some cars aren't great but with some tinkering they can be improved :)
Update: on the btcc mod....I've spent countless hrs this weekend reworking the btcc mod #2 tire sound and ffb file...
I feel the ffb update is a lot better than the original...allows for more feel of what the tires are doing for fwd & rwd cars as well as better road feel....the cars themself graphically are awesome...tuning wise their a bit understeery to my liking but with a few minor tweaks they come alive and really fun ....the mod was made with btcc style in mind, bumping and rubbing. cars are well planted and dont spin off with a little tap!
Sound: ive adjusted the tire scrub/skid and road noise file to get better tire feedback through sound....one note oppents car sounds need to be turned down as it becomes a bit overpowering with a 20 car grid....50-60% seems to work well.
I've got all the tracks working with no crashes to do date that I know of!
The mod itself is a bit sensitive and doesn't allow any extra plug in apps.
Next stage is to get some people online and test it for any more bugs so if anyone is interested in testing it give me a shout and ill send u the Google drive link with what I have....helios is going to send wolf what I have and see if he can add to it....if its a go were looking at thurs nights or sat mornings ill let the interested vote on the day.
Cheers
Ah wish I could join in on those, tip download the lite version and have an install for every mod, also a single track folder that all the installs point to. Some mods interfere with each other and can cause no end of hassle, by keeping them separate you can avoid the worst of it.
I just saw a video about the lite version. I will start doing that, i only have the V8's loaded right now, and brands hatch in my regular rfactor setup. I am still tweaking the ffb and such. but so far I see why this sim is so popular. Once I restarted my pc and fixed my fps issue, it runs great.

Okay curious now...spill the beans!
I'm with Knight. Spill!

All right here it is!

NGTC mod goes in your rf1 directory folder
Locations in your gamedata folder
and if you wanna try the controller.ini file it goes in userdata/gamertag folder
Cheers hope you like it!

Yup me like, anything BTCC rocks my boat...downloading now!

Will be downloading shortly.
Any RWD for me to drive?
Hmm had it crash twice running at Donninton Nat...
But assuming we can run it, my usual Seat Dave Newsham 17a is claimed!

Only glitch ive come across is in cockpit mode in holiday inn vectra theres a shadow/blur infront of the car.
Please report any crashes here so we can determine if this mod is worthy!
Cheers

Will download and install tonight.
Need to get some laps in on the Clios though!
No aids on at all apart from auto clutch.
Sounding good Kurupt.
Will have a play with the mod tonight.
found a converted wtcc race 07 mod for rfactor....looks and feels the same :)
Sounds intresting !
So I just got rfactor last week while I was on vacation. I mainly got it to see if I could join the guys at GBR for their V8 supercar series.
