Lucille. Can't wait to see what songs they pick for that. Now get some Buddy Guy and SRV and I'll be one happy boy.
Might hav eto pick it up now just for the Megadeth stuff.
Those Megadeth songs are so far beyong my ability it isn't even funny.
By the way Cotter, if you really want to buy it Amazon has it for 59.99. Pretty good price since the cable alone is 29.99. Most everywhere else still has it for 79.99
I"ll be able to pick up the rhythms, but the leads will be murder. I've never rerally concentrated on lead technique till the past couple of years. For some reason, I'd always been into riffs as opposed to solos. But now, I'm wanting to branch out so I can at least record some decent solos on my own stuff. I think the games scale games could benefit me a great deal.
@Gunny I know how you feel man. I want Free Bird but I'm afraid at this point it will be so bad I'll end up hating the song for the rest of my life. Maybe you should at least get Smoke on the Water though...that one is a great ego booster :)
The 3DD stuff isn't too bad. Not super easy but not nearly as tough as some of the songs on the disc.
I'm thinking I may get More Than a Feeling so I can use it to learn Smells Like Teen Spirit lol.
Ah I see. I'd like to take a lesson or two myself just to make sure I'm not picking up some really bad habits. Maybe I'll just film myself playing and have Cotter give me some feedback. You listening Cotter? What do you think about that?
EDIT: by the way you're never to old to have fun.
More Allman Bros. would be great. I'd like to see some Dead on there too... Nothing like playing a 10 min song.
Hanger 18 and Symphony of Destruction are easy-ish (at least by Dave Mustaine standards) as far as rhythm is concerned. Haven't tried the other one yet. I got distracted with my recent acquistion of the Guitar Pro 5 program on my computer. If you haven't done so yet, check out Guitar Pro. Not only can you transcribe your own music fairly easily, there is a search the web function to look for tabs that other people have already done the tab for.
Here id the website for it.

Symphony of Destruction is super simple to play. Hangar 18 not so much. Public Enemy # 1 wont be too bad. It's simple enough. Now they just need to get Holy Wars in there
I used to be able to play Holy Wars up until the acoustic break in the middle. That is a song you definitely have to keep practicing. If you don't play it for a while, you almost have to start from square one again.
I saw Megadeth on some special on VH1 Classic showing one of the Big 4 shows in Bulgaria. The showed them playing Holy Wars, it still blows my mind that Dave can play that song and sing at the same time.
Yeah, Dave is a very rare tallent IMO. Very impressive musician. He can write some kick ass riffs too.
I hope we get some more DLC that is along the lines of Megadeath. I learned guitar growing up playing Megadeath, Metallica, Testament, Randy Roads, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, The Cure (I know you secretly like them Bayman:) ) etc, etc.....
Some classical guitar DLC would be cool too.
The Free Christmas pack had some classical like tendencies to it. They were actually fairly fun to play, it just that you have to listen to a Christmas-y song to play it.
As for groups I was there were downloads for, Deep Purple is on the top on my list. Maybe Strange Kind of Woman, Knockin' on your Back Door and Burn.
And no Pendragon, the only thing the The Cure was good for is music to slit your wrists by.
...... Mos Def Deep Purple. That's a good one.

Found this Testament "Return to Serenity" being performed by students in class. Pretty good acoustic version I think. They did a good job.

I'd shit my pants if they made those available...
Oooh, good call with the Metal Church. Though I would rather have "We Watch the Children Pray" off of The Dark.

Wow, "Metal Church". That took me back. One of their best songs too.
Good choice but there is just something about that song Badlands, IDK if its the riff or what but:

Man, that takes me way back. Great song. We used to cover that in my band. Way back in the day.
Good posts with the Metal Church stuff. Damn.
Here's one my band used to play as a warm up song. We didn't have the keyboards so that part was played on guitar.
It's an easy song to play but, it's fun.

I think some Faith No More could make for an interesting change up on RS.
How about a list of songs that will NEVER make it to Rockband:
"happy birthday, fucker!"
and I'm pretty sure it's about rape

Some Tool DLC would be really cool.
