Penni, Parrot, Fortune, Jello, Shough, Crystal & me. Those are the only active members of our clan that I can think of. Sometimes I see former active members on and they're still official clannies but I figure they know where the clan room is.
I used to mentor newbies in how to use the client, save money by shopping at the bots, etc....Lots & lots of typing & patience just to have them not show up anymore after 2 or 3 days. That got tiresome so now I wait & see if they're for real. We used to have a new clannie every other week or so, it seemed like 1 in 10 would pan out...maybe. Most just introduce themselves once either here or in game then that's about it. Very occasionally an ol' timer will stop by and say "hi".
It's nice when a newbie sticks around like Crystal. It infuses some life into things, but the ones that stay any ammount of time a rare.
As far as people not posting here, I just thought you're all living it up over there on Facebook.
Nite, I think Fort was referring to this forum now being a general Magic forum open to all 2old2play members rather than a clan forum. It appears that we still have it to ourselves none-the-less. We do post more on Facebook, but not all that much.
We missed you today. I hope you can make next time. And thanks for the appreciation. I love this clan!
What nite said was true. I used to work VERY HARD to keep clannies interested, but it was almost a full time job. That said, I don't think magic is something that too many gamers are interested in. They like the FPS games. This website was founded by a small group of people that played Halo together. That is still the main theme on this website. I think I have mentioned before that the only reason we have a forum here is because one of the founders liked the game and threw this forum in. Then he got tired of it, and also had a lot of real life happen, so I took it over and have been here ever since. When X-Box came out with a magic game it sparked some interest here, but it was short lived. We may have some people drop by now and then just to see what is going on, but that is it. Our clan is small, but we are mighty!
I think the Magic community is kind of separate from the regular gaming community. I belong to a general gaming guild that has interest in just about everything with thousands of members, but like Penni said, the interest in Magic was limited to a couple of people playing the computer game a little bit. Likewise, the Magic groups I belong to seldom talk about other games, and if they do they are table-top games rather than the mainstream computer/console games. The only reason I initially joined 2old2play was because it came up on a google search for a MTGO clan, so I suppose that could happen with someone else. It took me forever to successfully figure out how to actually join this clan though, but that's fine because I wouldn't have had the time till now anyway.
It appears that no one else on 2old2play is currently interested in posting about Magic.
