Sunday 12/15 Tourney 100C-RS
Ok, I am going to try something new out next week and see how it goes, I don’t recall ever playing this one.
100 Card Singleton Rainbow Stairwell…. Here is the breakdown:
1-6 casting cost of each color and artifacts (36 cards total)
2-7 casting cost of gold (Multi-Color) cards (6 cards total)
3 additional card of each color and artifacts, these cards must have a casting cost of 1-3-5 or 2-4-6 (18 cards)
Five of each basic land plus 15 lands of your choice: non-basic or basic (40 lands total)
No X Casting Cost cards and no cards with both of the words "destroy" and "land" (including non-basic land) are allowed.
Pfweew...i was afraid you would post something complicated.
At least i can use an old rs deck as a startingpoint.
I'll see what i come up with.

Ugh. After driving all night to get home from Florida, and sleeping maybe, um, 2 hours, I can't even begin to comprehend how to build this deck. I'll try again maybe tomorrow.
My only question has to do with the 3 additional cards of each color.
Say I choose the 1-3-5 option, and I'm choosing my 3 additional blue cards....
A) Can I choose three 1-mana blue cards...... or do I need a 1-mana / 3-mana / 5-mana set combination?
B) Since I chose the 1-3-5 combo on blue, do I need to stay consistent on the other colors and artifacts?
Like Fort said, since we can start out with an old RS deck it shouldn't be too hard but I just want to make sure I understood that part.
Ok, starting with my usual RS deck I made a 100 cd. Singleton deck. I had to change out Creeping Mold cuz it has both "destroy" & "land" in it. Also Ghost Quarter had to go.
For now, I just assumed that if I chose 1-3-5 mana for a color, that I needed 1 of each of those mana costs. I also stayed consistent with all colors(and arties). I'm pretty sure my deck is legal right now but if we can pick and choose those things I asked about in my previous post, I'll be changing my deck dramatically.
Actually, making this deck wasn't that hard. I just make it seem hard by asking all my legalese, . Choosing between my 6 multicolored cards was the hardest choice.
I'm trying to figure out the 1-3-5, 2-4-6 rule too...do we choose odd or even and then pick a card of each cc (1,3,5 or 2,4,6)? That is what it sounds like...so we would have two cards of either 1,3,5 or 2,4,6 of each color and arti.
Like if I chose 1,3,5 I could have 2 Birds of Paradise since I had one from the 'first 60' and then the additional..or I could have a Swords to Plowshares and a Path to Exile for white.
Do the cards have to be mono-colored except for the gold? And by gold do you mean all mulit-colored, such as Unmake?
interesting!

I know you can't have 2 of anything because it's 100cd. Singleton.

I assumed they were all mono except for 6 gold. I would think Unmake would be fine for your 3cc multi-colored.
Its Singleton so only one copy of any card. All cards that are not Gold or Artifact must be mono-color. The 1/3/5 or 2/4/6 are mono-color and you can choose 1/3/5 or the 2/4/6 set for each color ie. 1/3/5 for Red & 2/4/6 for Green & 2/4/6 for White & 1/3/5 for Artifact, etc. Unmake & cards like it can be used as Multi-Color Gold Cards. With the wide array of colors and casting cost’s I figured land destruction would be overly powerful and Xcc cards are not allowed in RS so that is just carried over. It sounds complex but, an old RS build can be adapted fairly easy.
I thought it would be something different, we always have fun with RS!
Got it! I like the twist!

I tested with Nite and Shough last night..fun games! Like 'normal' RS it's a completely different game each time.
Funny aside: Nite and I played two games..in the first game he played Transguild Promenade on turn 2, as did I. Second game I played Rupture Spire turn 2, as did he. Game one he had a turn 3 Vampire Nighthawk. Game 2 I had a turn 3 Vampire Nighthawk.
I like seeing what big CC cards people use. Sometimes one player gets a particularly nasty low CC creature out and the game doesn't last long enough (like Nite's Troll Ascetic).
It may be fun to do a RS type using CC 4-9, or no crits with CC less than 4.

Yeah decks like this are pretty random so every game is different.
I made a playable deck but it is hard to choose cards to add to an old deck.
Its almost impossible to build 1 strategy in a deck like this so you end up with a dozen strategies.
Like i said before , there are simply too much funny cards in this game
I might tweak it a bit but..........where do i start ?
One card takes you to the left , the next one takes you to the right and so on.
Funny format , i like it.

Fun Games! The decks seem to flow well, I think it’s a cool format.
