I agree the site should take a look at what the new consoles are doing and integrate as much as possible. Doodi one thing thats coming out and important to remember is that we are a bunch of old guys and so simplicity and the ability to remain private as much as possible are concerns worth bearing in mind.

Walladog - I think critism is a great thing as long as its constructive. Many of us have chimed in on ways to make 202p a better, more inviting place. What do you propose we do?
I agree, and hopefully soon, the situation will be better. I think if doodirock had a crystal ball he might have been able to prepare for it. Even sites with tons of staff are late to the party on that front.
I have posted great volumes on this topic. Almost every time this discussion comes up. I'm not going to get into it again, because as my post stated, advice and criticism is not taken, nor considered in this forum.
It is comical how Shadow, as posted above, once again confirms the completely myopic view of most of the remaining users. The point, dear Shadow, was that BillyKiller represents someone who was an active user of the site, and has found it, in recent years, lacking. He was voicing his frustration and issues. Essentially, if this discussion is about how to improve the site, you must ask the question, What about the site is lacking? What is going wrong? What do people not like? Billy is gracious enough to take the time to let you know what, for him, has turned him away from 2old2play.
Instead of lashing out with a string of infantile, misspelled, epiphets...you should probably just say thank you.
Most people when it comes to websites ( or restaurants, or businesses, or products) don't take time to complain...they just leave and don't come back.
wow. I wasn't sure it could get more condescending, but thank you for proving me wrong.
As Doodi, site creator, has stated - it's not about bringing the G+ people back. They're already gone. It's about keeping who we have and bringing in fresh blood.
My post sucked. Sorry I didn't spend more time with it but to be honest. I have spent a lot of time on this site and transition from V2 to V3 took that away from not just me but my entire clan. We did in fact try to work with managment to debug the site. We tried to mingle with the gen pop and it almost always ended poorly because of the "who the fuck is this guy" attitude.
The pwn clan forum was more active at its peak than any other forum on this site including Offtopic. Meaning more threads and posts. We were here all day long, every day. We provided value to the site, maybe not its memebers outside of the clan but to the site overall. And due to events we stopped caring. To Walla's point it was the site change that started the issue but it was the attitude that sealed the deal and since it appears to still be that way don't expect any change to the site to fix the problem. It won't.
if the opinion of one guy who doesn't know you is enough to make you say "fuck the site" then maybe it's not the right place for you.... you shouldn't give a shit what I think, and I presume you don't, so don't make it about me.

Just sayin'
I never said "fuck the site" as you put it. I was responding to a post Doodi made where he said something like "it always ends with people saying Fuck you, you're not the boss of me."
To which I tried to quote him and respond "Fuck you, you're not the boss of me."
It was an attempt at humor, that in another humorous way made me chuckle. When I posted the site hung, after several minutes, my post finished but as a new post at the end of the thread.
And just to be clear, I don't, as you put it, "give a shit" what you think. I might, but I have yet to hear you articulate what you think. As far as I can tell you are just making noise very loudly in an attempt to establish dominance.
I don't believe I have ever said I moved on. Last I checked I am still a member here, with the same weight to my opinion as yourself Darth.
I am constructively trying to point out that it may be time for the site leadership to take a bit of a personal inventory and consider that perhaps some of the site's failings reside in decisions made by themselves.
Again, it only confirms the point when without cursing, or infantile comments, I am dismissed as "butthurt."
This is an effort to try to explain what, in my opinion, is required to return this place to greatness.
So which of us is being constructive and which isn't? I am offering some actual criticism of what people I game with feel are the site's shortcomings.
You...what...just beat down anyone that criticizes? Very open minded of you. Very constructive.
This, once again, confirms exactly what the problem is here. Reasonable people with actual constructive criticism and ideas eventually tire of getting publicly beat down. So in a way, people like yourself do win, because reasonable people have better things to do and just eventually move on. In the end though I think (and we are very close to that point now) you will be here all by yourself, clinging to the idea that everything is fine.
I think the point is that Doodi put forward many new ideas as well as his friend. Only afterwards was there the large post about all the past issues and reasons people are gone, which we already know for the most part. It wasn't so much constructive as it was venting, in my opinion. That post belonged 6 months ago, but not so much in the change thread where positive change had already been heartily discussed.
my .02
it'd be like if when MS was trying to discuss new positive things for XP, but all anyone posted was stuff they hated about Me and that it was a mistake. Well yeah we know that, but we're already on to new ideas so read those and add to them.
This thread is moving fast. I did post issues 6 months ago. I am bringing the current issue to light because it is apparant that the issues raised 6 months ago garnered absolutely no changes.
The same behavior continues to repeat.
The underlying issue needs addressed before anyone can debate the extra bells and whistles.

I think, hope, that is whats happening here. Recognize some of the glaring problems, solve how to fix them. In between bashing are some really good points.

Nevermind the man behind the curtain.....pay no attention to him!
I'm convinced that everyone that is still here falls into three catagories:
1) New user
2) User who will just settle for what the site is
and the biggest group
3) People that just want to be able to say they know a guy who owns a website
I'm definitely a number 2 guy but not so much settling rather I'm old and dont give a fuck because the site provides what I want but we appreciate your input.

i'm 32...... not THAT old. ;)
I have 5 grandkids, so I am THAT old.
It only takes one crying baby to ruin a perfectly good restaurant analogy.
Thanks for once again confirming my point.
i got your crying baby right here, took me 10 minunets to post this from my phone.. So you sir can kiss me where I pee..
IACO, I know you are better than this. :(

Why does that guy want me to kiss him behind the Taco Bell?
heheh ok I got a chuckle out of that one:)

Absolutely great point fuzzball!

Oh how ironic. :/
Shit Happens :)
Ok guys. Lets get back on topic. To the people that left, I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I'm not looking to win anyone back here though.
To those that stick with the site, lets please steer things back around and stop worrying about how good of a restaurant we are. Thanks
So the message is...let's just not talk about the suck? Okay. Tell me what I should say Doodi, and I will agree with you.
We've had more than enough topics derailed here recently. Can we get this one back on topic before we have to lock it?
Haha. Holy shit.
