SEATTLE – Do you love bacon to death? Is your dying wish is to be buried in bacon?
The local company behind Bacon Salt and Baconnaise are making it happen.
J&D’s Foods has created the Bacon Coffin, what they call the world’s first bacon-wrapped casket.
"Yes, this is really real," wrote J&D owners Justin and Dave in a press release. “Bacon Coffins are finished with a painted Bacon and Pork shading and accented with gold stationary handles. The interior has an adjustable bed and mattress, a bacon memorial tube and is completed in ivory crepe coffin linens."
The Bacon Coffins are available for $2,999.95 plus shipping.
In the email announcing the Bacon Coffin, Justin and Dave added, "Don’t you judge us, after baconlube (bacon flavored personal lubricant), we all knew it was just going to keep getting weirder. And yeah, your (sic) right we’re probably going to hell for this one."
I’ve tried this and liked it. It’s a great compromise if you have one kid who loves the lesser cooked, soft, porky fat bubbles and another who likes crumbly, crisp strips capable of etching glass. Couple notes on the video:
First, I don’t think it takes that much water. In a 14” non-stick skillet chock full of bacon, I put in enuf water maybe to cover the bottom of the pan, maybe less. I definitely didn’t cover the bacon with water. I think you basically want enuf water to take 5 or 6 minutes to simmer it all off. I don’t think it needs to boil forever.
Second, and most importantly, it’s stupid to cook only three slices of bacon.
that looks accurate to me. We've had a massive drought across the midwest ( agricultural hotspot) and grains in general are suffering along with other crops. But, a lot of meat producers will most likely move the animals to markekt early to sell before they get hit with the increase in grain prices, so I think the real impact will most likely be next years market prices on pork, beef, etc.

even blurred it looks delicious.
It was the single greatest thing I have ever created. I was so excited that I was unable to hold the camera straight.
