Family Cruises - opinions

Have anyone here taken their family on a Royal Caribbean cruise? Or even better, have you done a Disney AND Royal Caribbean cruise? My wife and I are trying to figure out which one to choose. Disney is just so much more expensive than Royal Caribbean.  My kids will be 7 and 10.

Haven't taken the family. But have been on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruises. Did Eastern Caribbean with Royal and Western with Norwegian. We definitely preferred Royal over Norwegian and the Eastern caribbean was tons better. One of my old bosses takes 2 cruises a year with the whole family and only goes on Royal. Go with the newer, bigger ships, and get a stateroom that is in the middle vertically and horizontally. And book your excursions before you go or you won't get the ones that you want.

Sean my family, not me has done both. I'm not a fan of cruises. They have been on the Oasis and the Disney cruises.

Recommendation, do the new ships. Choose a ship that is recently comeout. I think the Quantum is due this year not sure.

These are expensive. Meals are included but only in the banquet halls and the times you choose. They actually ask you at what time you will be dinning. That is the thing, you must play by their schedule. All other restaurant are payment, and slightly overpriced like you might expect.

Also alcholic drinks are expensive, I would recommend a Tervis Tumbler and giving the bar man a good tip to fill up that bad boy.

The boat is impressive, and their a lot of activities for the kids. Although Flowrider lessons are expensive your kids should love it.

I myself like to wing it. Not to think about time, money or anything. Usually pick a all inclusive resort. I should be taking a trip this year to Beaches in Turks and Caicos.

Thanks for the input.  We reserved a 7 day Caribbean Cuise with Disney this summer, along with a stop at Island of Adventure to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (yes, I am such a geek).
