Church I've never known you to be in a bad mood, except when your controller batteries die or when you were racing last Sunday or that time you lost it and hit the wall at Suzuka in the radicals or when......... never mind I was never here.
On the previous page Knight threw out the new XBox (paraphrasing) "comes with an always on camera"...I've heard some disturbing speculation about this new toy but this takes the cake and I'm with Knight on this theres no way...then I thought about how duct tape easily solves that so for now Parcells will wait and see albeit PC racing could be within the end of the year for Parcells?
I have a kinect, my wife uses it when she does her keep fit and zumba stuff, she has her own hard dive, no xbox live account and the box is not online when she uses it. When I put in my drive I disconnect the bloody thing, job done.
Reports are the new one will log the amount of people in the room, when they are there, who they are if they have an account. When renting a film for example it will not play if too many people are watching...at least these are the reports.
I would assume duck tape will render the box inoperable, with a "there seems to be a problem with your camera" error.
How much truth there is to all this remains to be seen.
What remains true is I have not bought a game for xbox since I returned to PC gaming, constant sales and special offers, even the odd free game keeps the need for something new taken care of by the likes of Steam and Gamefly. Even recent releases less than a year old sometimes crop up for silly money. This over time starts to close the gap between the two systems in terms of cost.
If we take racing as an example, seven or eight years ago you may have bought rF1, today you will still be using it, but you will have 100x the tracks and cars you started with, the game looks better runs faster and has been updated with major updates several times, and great modders have made their own improvements...how much has this cost? Nothing. Now Forza, In the same time you have bought it four times, you have bought how many DLC's? You have lost tracks, and when the new box comes out it begins again, another round of bi yearly releases and endless dipping into your pocket for DLC content to keep up with the cool kids.
The argument that console gaming is cheaper and simpler is dead, I was one of those that used it, and for some years it was true and I was a confirmed console user, but the golden goose is coughing up blood. Endless rehashes of the same games over and over again, bugged releases, DLC, high costs of games, dated hardware and the spy in the living room.
I wanted the next Xbox to blow me away, bleeding edge tech, a gaming power house. Triple screen out the box, and that all important second hand market. The first two were no brainers from the off, this one? Well we'll see, but this time I am not holding my breath in sweet anticipation.
85F day predicted, no rain in sight, went out to start the bike and nothing...well, not true, the headlight came on, the shift indicator in neutral, switch on, hit the starter, nothing, not even a consolation click...and the damn alarm lights were going on.
I strongly suspect the damn battery in my key fob's dead...
This is really turning out to be quite the shitty week...
Oh, tomorrow, rain...
Checked the battery, 3volt 2032 model, was reading 2.8, already put a new one in reading 3.1+ BUT I'm not home to try it....Having a hard time thinking 2.8 was weak enough to not work...
It has a key, and is used to turn on the ignition system and unlock the forks, but it then uses a switch on the bars. All the key does is literally unlock the ignition system. I leave that unlocked all the time as if the fob isn't by the bike, IE in my pocket, it won't start anyway. Either the fob was weak or the switch on the bars bad, we shall see. Really doubt the starter is at fault here.
IF I'm not on Gizzie's track day run today, I'm on my bike...
So my local mobile Cell has now been down for two days making online activaties next door to impossible. I have an occational connection to the next closest Cell but constant disconnects and random speeds make even making a post like this hit and miss...Oh the joys of rural living.
Nice, wish I could get back out in the wind, but alas unless there is a dramatic change in my finances, I am stuck on four wheels. As I live in Ireland, a country that is subsidizing very rich people who need apparently to be very very rich people using money taken from relatively poor people...that is unlikely.
Well, I can attest the damn things aren't cheap, but the wifes will be paid off in July!!! And mine follows a year later. I cannot wait, but it's abolutely the most fun I've ever financed.
No doubt, but the only thing I have on credit is the car, no credit card and no other debts. With uncertain income it is the only way to live, cash buy or no buy, simple and sustainable...If I added the cost of a Hog, road tax, insurence and maintanence I would be happy up to the day the bailiffs called.
Ahh, see, the car and the truck are paid for, priorities being what they are. I do have a land loan, but it's almost done as well. Mind you, the day all three are paid, there will be an announcement and probably a hell of a party...
Very cool and I am a little jealous, if we hadn't been hit by the double whammy of the Banks and the Property bubble here I would be on two wheels now. Three years ago I started window shopping, even talked to friends in the States about flying out and picking up a Hog there and shipping it back, bought the leathers and helmet...then Shit and Fan had a meeting and my income dropped by 90%...end of a dream
Send Parcells your calendar Church, I'll take care of it.
Church aren't you a bit old to be hormonal?
Church I've never known you to be in a bad mood, except when your controller batteries die or when you were racing last Sunday or that time you lost it and hit the wall at Suzuka in the radicals or when......... never mind I was never here.
When I say I don't want to, trust me...

Hmm don't have a lot of hope for you mate, not much difference there. Bring back the analog key and kick start!

Fingers crossed it's the bike. Still bloddy cold here, winter just wont let go. Costing a fortune in heating.
+ one Knight.
Will be sitting down when I get my gas and elec bill!
Nearly €800 over our usual heating budget to date...
Dam knight! Turn that shit of and get a jumper on.
Night all early one for me

Bad times Knight hope you get it sorted!
See you guys in a week!
Night night!
Burned a tank of gas on my bike over the weekend, you know, so I could fill her with a nice fresh tank of hi test!!!
