Horizontal scrolling fubared for mozilla-based browsers?

Has someone neutered horizonal scrolling in the CSS template for mozilla-based browsers?

This question/statement has been made in one of the clan forums.

If it has, is there a necessary reason for it?

If it was done by mistake could it be fixed without causing damage to the code/template/site/functionality of site?

You've made the template 1100 pixels wide.

If you are using Firefox or IE and have your screen resolution set to 1024 x 768, the viewport is too wide to see the right edge of the site.

Normally, the default behavoir is to have a horizonal scroll bar at the bottom to pan left/right.  That functionality has been disabled on this site.  All you get is a vertical scroller.

you can't even use the navigator by clicking the scroll wheel on the mouse.

Wam:  are you seeing the same thing I reported?

Splat, that's it.

My guess is that there's an  overflow variable or something similar set to hidden in a template/css file by the way it's acting.  They need to remove/fix that line and everyone will be good to go.

We're going to take it a step further.  Instead I'll be bringing the site down to a standard 990.

Backstory time:

Originally when I designed the site I was moving it toward the higher res screens.  Normally what you do is go just below the highest res which for me was wide screen 1366 x 768.  My hope was that the majority of users would be around this area and past the 1024.  It seems like most are, but not enough to warent the larger viewing space.

You will lose a bit of pixels, but most of that will be in the side bar anyway where information is genreally small and to the point.  I can't tell you when this fix will happen since I have to bascially recut the template, but it is something in the works.  I'll probably have it done the same time I concert the site to mobile as well.
