Kindle Fire

Anyone got one and do you like it?  I already have an Android phone (Motorola Atrix 2) and I love it, but I've been thinking lately that I'd like something a little larger to use when at home.

I also am an Amazon Prime member so the I'd have access to the lending library and on demand videos.  I'm almost sold already, but I'd like to know about any potential drawbacks (compared to something like the Motorola Xoom or an iPad).

I have an ipad and a fire and honestly I use the kindle alot more.

It obviously doesnt have all the bells and whistles of the ipad, but for books, movies and web surfing it does the trick.

There are 2 kindle fires in my house and the wife and daughter really like them.  Books, games, and facebook are fine on them.  The only issue we had, and many others have had, is connecting to wifi.  Neither would stay connected to my original router, had to go get a newer model so they would stay connected.  Amazon may have provided an update that fixed that by now, this was back in December - January, but it was a wide spread problem.

Thanks for the feedback.  How is it size wise?  Do you find the 7 inch display too small?

My wife has the fire and a older kindle and I have the nook color.  The 7inch screen is a non issue for her.  She reads, plays games and surfs on it w/o any issues.  The only time she uses her original kindle is when she is reading in the sun, but you can get anti-glare protector for a ipad and cut it down to size to fit the fire. She did that for her fire, and i have one for my nook and they really do make a big difference.

Well I got one. I do like it. Its a bit on the heavy side which makes reading kind of awkward and it doesn't seem to be as fast and responsive as my phone but those are my only two gripes. Also no HBO Go yet is kind of annoying but supposedly this will be available very soon. Still not sure whether I'll root it. I think I'll use it as is for a few months before I decide. Right now the only benefit I see would be customizing the interface. So far all of the apps (except hbo) have been available through the amazon app store so not having google play isn't a big deal. For the price I'm happy. Now my wife wants one too. Maybe they'll come out with a better version soon so I can give her this one :)
