Looks like OnLive is going BK, folding or getting bought out
Kind of sad, really. I was wondering what that meant for Ouya console, but if OnLive is bought up by someone else, I guess in theory it could still happen.
Still not sure about this streaming lark.
What if I lose my internet for a while?
I suppose it would be good for when im at work though.
I"m really not that surprised. When I gave it a shot, I didn't really care for it much. The video quality was at "low-meduim low" quality by today's PC gaming standard. This coupled by laggy gameplay made streaming a non-option for me.
Not surprised here, i have an opening day account on their service but never did shit with it. I never liked their pricing model or the fact that you never own anything, even though you still have to pay full price for new games.
The employee termination is pretty shitty though, but I've worked in silicone valley and the shittiness level of the layoffs also doesn't surprise me.
I'm surprised they made it this long.
I have a couple of games I got during big sales or for free, but I never play them because at best they're not as good as playing on a console, and at worst are completely unplayable.
According to an article on VG247 someone has bought/saved them.
Looks that way.
Also Signed up for a free account last night.
You can play demos of everything. The older games seem ok but games like dIRT 3 ect have a delay in response with the controls. Obviously
Updated info on Joystiq. They are being sold, but no specifics to who. That sad truth is that if you worked their your are pretty much fubared.
