Notification en mass
I chose to follow a thread in our clan forum that I created. Two people posted and a little while later I got 18 notifications via email. I did notice that the site seemed to hang at the same time it sent email notifications. Maybe if it is sending that huge qty of notifications for everyone with email notification it bogs down the server?
i got 14 all with the same time stamp today. i'm following quite a few threads though.
Walla, were they all the same email or was it an email for each reply to the thread? We're working on notifications now so I'd love more info on tracking down these issues.
No, just one reply. I would have the original post in the thread. Then 1 reply would get posted. After a half hour or so all of a sudden I would get like 6 notifications, all exactly the same...even though there was only 1 reply. Another reply would happen and I might get another for or five. It almost seemed like it was sending a reply for everytime the thread was viewed but I may just be imagining it.
That actually might be exactly what is happening. I'll pass it on to Dsmooth
