I think a regular flash drive (thumb drive) will work.  I've used on to move my profile in the past.

Yeah just a normal thumb drive should do the trick.

Oh really? I thought Microsoft would make you buy some super special thumb drive for a rediculous price.

There is a transfer cable you can use, but its not worth buying if you have a flash drive.

There are many options.  Flash drive is the easiest, just put in any generic 16gb or less flash drive into the USB port and format it with the xbox360 and you can use it to store savegames.  But you can also transfer his save games to cloud storage and connec tto that on the new system.  You can also just download his profile onto the new xbox, it's the new cloud profile feature they introduced last update.  Kind of like recovery buta bit different.

Just dont use the Cloud if you play Forza 4 as it will block your saved game.

There is a CR hack using the cloud so the just blocked it 116

On this subject..... I am needing to upgrade the hard drive on my xbox ,thanks to BF, in preparation for the upcoming Halo. My current 20 gig hard drive is full along with the 16 gig thumb drive I have.

What is the best way to transfer all that media to my new 320 gig?

Here is the best I could come up with but not sure if it will work:

1 - Install 320 gig drive and transfer all thumb drive media to it.

2 - Shut down xbox and put in 20 gig drive and transfer all that media to the now empty thumb drive.

3 - Shut down again and put 320 gig back in and transfer reloaded thumb drive on to 320 gig drive.

Is this process going to work or screw up my hard drives?

This process while tedious will work fine.  Cloud storage will not work due to the small capacity they give.  SO your only other option would be to buy a transfer cable which would cost you around 20 bucks for something you'll use once, maybe twice.

So I got that 320 gig hard drive and got everything swapped over no probs. I did however notice a 25 gig loss due to "system items". I only lost 6 gigs for system items with my 20 gig drive.

Anybody have any insight as to why the larger loss of storage on the larger hard drive?
