What happend to my sound?

I have a pair of Trittons...something. Bought this year but I can't seem to recall what kind of Trittons it is. Anyhoo, today I hop on for some games of Halo and suddenly my sound is all screwed up, some frequences are not there, for example if I melee anything there's no sound of it, guns sound different and if I get meleed or assisinated there's also no sound of it, like I said frequences are not there, but that's not all of it, I can hear all other stuff but it's like the sound is overlapping itself, I think the musical term for this is phase something, out of phase or similar. Of course I suspect the headphones to be broken but, I haven't been anything but really careful with them. So I know for a fact they haven't got hit, thrown or stepped on. I've checked all cables, both box and tv and I restarted the 360 twice. Nothing. Same still.

Any ideas before I turn my apt inside out looking for a receipt?
