Xbox Live Gold members to get free Xbox One games monthly in 2014

Microsoft announced today that Xbox Live Gold members will receive free access to select Xbox One games on a monthly basis starting in 2014.
The announcement expands Microsoft's current Games With Gold program, which gives XBL Gold subscribers free copies of featured Xbox Live Arcade and Games on Demand titles monthly. Originally launched as a limited-time promotion, Games With Gold has since been extended indefinitely as an "ongoing benefit" for Xbox Live Gold members.
No further details regarding the program's Xbox One expansion were announced, though Microsoft notes that more information will be available in 2014.
I'm guessing they have some kind of emulation process happening for some of the 360 XBLA games.
no, these are X1 games for the X1. Not 360 games.
It's probably why they are waiting till 2014...probably in summer. They probably feel the need to try and match what PS+ is doing.
I'd say these are limited like promo's to encourage people to try new stuff and maybe buy? Not a bad sales model.
yeah I don't think these are promos. PS+ games aren't promos.
I'm sure it'll be smaller indie games at least for awhile.

I don't see them doing a ton of Kinect only games because they saw how much those sold. Kinect is going to be more of an additional control in most games from now on, I think.
True, but I think at first they are going to want to encourage its use more and show off what the 2.0 can do.
Well Killer Instinct is going to be free. I imagine it'll be games of similar quality as to that and what we are seeing now with the 360.
I'm sure there are lots of titles that haven't been announced/talked about. May not be great but free is free.
One character of KI will be free. Otherwise it's $5 per pop if you buy them single or $20 to buy the character pack.
As long as they don't give out any stupid tower defense games we're good.
I'm sure the first batch will be Killer Instinct-like. In other words you get the game for free but are "encouraged" to buy DLC of various types. Still good news regardless.
I'm pretty exited for it. Unlike the free ones they gave out on the 360 version that were so old they were mouldy, the ONE offerings have to be more recent and because of that i'd be much more likely to check them out.
