Could.   Possibly.  Way in the future when no one will care anymore.

Meh.  If I want to play 360 games I'll play on my 360.  But by this time this would happen I'll be way past last gen.

Can't really see the point potentially adding this a year or maybe more post-launch.  The biggest interest in back compat I imagine is the first year of a new console launch.  I suppose there may be some lingering interest as holdouts jump on a new system later on.   Maybe announcing later hey it'll play your 360 games would be a modivational reason for holdouts to jump to ONE.  But overall I think back compat proved to be a waste of resources on 360 so I can't seem them repeating that mistake again.

I would rather them do some sort of digital licensing through the cloud.  Verify you had the 360 games somehow then allow you to download the 360 game to your HDD.

But still when I look back, I never played any xbox games on the 360.  Most were funkyand had trouble playing anyway.  (ie KOTOR I&II)

No way to verify you own.  Each disc doesn't have its own code that is used when you put it in (similar to why it wouldn't work without check-in on the X1).  So, never happen.

The difference between Xbox and x360 games is vast.  The online structure is so much better now, and HD 16x9 games are standard.  It's not as vast a visual jump as from the Xbox in SD 4x3, so there wouldn't be as much trouble.  Plus the same XBL is running on both 360 and X1, as opposed to the Xbox and 360.

And the only benefit is you won't have to turn on your 360, kinda like digitally you wouldn't have to open your drive...One less thing to help you keep your waistline from growing...hehe.

the real benefit is only having to own one box.  You could sell your 360 and make some money, and also not take up double the space for systems.

Resale, trade in, etc not a concern of mine. I'll probably use my 360 until it dies it's inevitable death....same with games, just don't do it. I just picked up Tiger Woods 14 and that'll probably be the last title I buy for the 360.

minimalist here, especially in a Condo.  Don't have room to rack up systems or store them.  Plus only so many HDMI inputs on my receiver.  Less clutter = good for me.

However I'll now be keeping at least one 360 until I'm totally done with those games, then ditch it.  Gotta keep current, life's too short to collect stuff that will only collect dust after awhile.

So are you saying Parcells better get cracking on completing Mass Effect 1 so I can then start playing ME2 & 3 that are currently collecting dust in my one bedroom apartment that may or may not contain a chicken?

I would play Halo 4 until 5 comes out, that would motivate me to move on to the Xbone earlier.

Parcells has probably 1/4 of the Reach campaign left and then I'll be all over Halo 4, also collecting dust...for now.

Of course it is! The One is an x86 design. The first Xbox was an x86 design. From a hardware/ISA standpoint you guys are good to go! You never know, pray for more Halo 2 goodness. 1

Nah, some of those early xbox games you could play for years and have fun. (R6 III, Halo and Mechassualt). IMO it was better content than some of the rehashed stuff they try to ram down our throats today. I'd rather play them games than COD or Battlefield.

If I was being sarcastic about them being x86 I would have done this instead:

I would love a high def remake of the first mario cart! That game was awesome. We would get hammered and play that game for hours!

Sorry, OS... There is something about the older FPS/3rdPS games that the newer ones don't have. It is like they lost something magical and I can't quite put my finger on it.

We grew up?

I loved Quake 2 on the PC, and really haven't cared much for anything since. I was into Counter Strike heavily, but the fun just wasn't there.
