Good idea, Achy! Heroic strikes do seem to be the most effective way to level. The Archon's Forge is also pretty effective though, and lots of fun. But we'll definitely give the raid a good poke in the eye first.
That should be read as recommended minimum light. We might not see the end of the raid until we hit the current cap (385).
Edit: I think I see what SoulTerror is talking about. When you put the cursor on the raid in the director, it does indeed say that the recommended light is 370.
I'm at 360 and while I might be able to add a couple more Light before the raid, there is no way I'll make 370 by tonight.
I'm hoping we'll at least be able to get in until we get gear checked and have to bail out.
Also, CoE is still worth doing, the packages you get from Variks will give you Light appropriate loot. Same with the packages you can get from Eris and Petra.
Archon's Forge has proven to give good stuff WHEN you can get the loot to drop, but it's very random - sometimes even the person initiating the event won't get loot, which makes no sense.
Is there a specific class or subclass that we are in need of for raids? Right now I'm enjoying both my Hunter (Nightslinger) and Titan (Defender/Sunbreaker) and would be down for playing either if we are low on a certain class or subclass for PvE. Let me know!
I think I said I could do the raid on the 27th but something came up and I won't be able to join you guys. Any other time I would like to do some raiding.
We got a fireteam together, figured out how to open the door in the first room, and and even though we were badly under-leveled, we eventually got the deed done. Went across a mini jumping puzzle and to a second encounter with the first boss, where we ended for the evening. We even got a chest! It was full of junk, but hey, a chest! I thought it went amazingly well, much better than I expected. And the first room is really fun! Our group of heroes was: DEEP_NNN, Doorgunnerjgs, gmantx, Osiris66, Ra Darkman, and myself (Krak64). Looking forward to my next time in the new raid!

Awesome news! Hopefully I can join you all sometime soon once I get a high enough light level!
Our group did about the same. We got in the "door" and made it to the first boss encounter. We plugged away at it for a while and I believe we've worked out the mechanics of the fight. We were just too low light, overall, to complete it before enrage.
That first boss encounter after the door is 360 Light, so you'll want most (if not all) of your team to be 360+. At the time, we only had two players at/above 360, but still managed to get him down to about 25% health. If we were all 360+, I think we could have moved on.
Now it turns out I will be available to do the raid on Tuesday the 27th. Sorry I keep changing my status but life is getting in the way of gaming. If you have a spot available and you see me online send me an invite.

I peeked at the raid solo. The first mechanic looks survivable at 350. What happens as it progresses, I don't know.
Did the same. Going to be interesting if we can figure out how to "open the door."
Something has come up at home and I will not be on until much later if at all tonight.
We made it through the first section blind. Excellent!

Way to go team!! Wish I could have been there. Had (have) major computer problems tonight that I just could not ignore. Hopefully next time.
Way to go gang!

Congratulations!
Wish I could of ran. No idea if I'll be able to this upcoming week either.
