WTCC 2013 rf1

Heres a link for those that would like to test it, I think it would make a good series for after the BTCC S2 is finished sticking with touring cars.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxcOOikMFWVJRVJaVlZob3QxeE0&usp=...

Please run and test as many cars and give feedback of any major bugs you come across :)

K....so i spent the entire evening with this mod and I absolutely love it!!! by far the best touring car mod ive tried for rf1 :)
From what i can gather its a Race 07 wtcc 10 conversion with 2013 skins and new physic which are better than the R07 version.
The mod comes installed with an updated HD ui which has some great features for the controller setup that isnt available through the base rf setup...you can change all the ffb parameters to dial in your setup which i quit enjoyed.
Believe it had realfeel but cant remember?
also a safety car but not 100% if it comes out under caution?

There was one mirror bug i came across which was easily fixed with F1fans sound fix....when going to a race that annoying fan glitch was going off but this was the fix
gbr.proboards.com/thread/27/rfactor-tweaks-plugins

other than that no issues that iam aware off I just have to test the online to make sure it runs
I did a few tweaks to enhance the overall experience if anyone is interested?
1. I took the head physics from Game Stock Car 2013 and applied it to the mod...it helps visually show the cars body roll and ties in very well with the ffb...i find rf1 cockpit view very stationary and unrealistic.
2. Went into my plr. file and set the 4 cockpit vibration lines all to 0.0000 the mod came with some pretty high vibrations
3. Installed high res mirrors
as for my wheel setup
Iam running full effects ffb 50-60% depending on drivetrain
steering force set to min
dampening set to 10
and lowered rumble vibration to 50% as 75 was a bit violent everything stoc setting

Hi,

Not sure if you know, but R Modding who made that mod released a patch and some turtle fix for sound I think.

Okay, downloaded and patched to 1.1

Not done the audio patch as yet as not sure which one to go for, the collection that kurupt has on his google drive, or the single one Mango linked to. Just tried the Seat so far and yup, happy to use that next time around. smiley

Ya it's very well done and will make for a great series!  Just gotta work on a track selection.  I would use the one mango posted I believe tartan said there was an issue with the one I used from driving Italia

on another note tartan and myself are working on enhancing our btcc mod....

i really enjoyed the overall setup of the wtcc mod and were working on making it similar, these are some of the enhancements I've added so far....

the mod will come all bundled in one with the mas. Fix and all the tracks so it will be about a 1 gb download but will save any hassle of multiple files being missed

enhancement wise....

updated realfeel and head physics from game stock car 2013....I found it helped with the audi a lot in the feel of the tires cause before it felt like mush now I feel the tires, head physics is nothing extreme it just helps visually with body roll and ties in nicely with the ffb

new tire and secondary sound file I found the old one very hard to determine the difference from scrubbing and squealing very suttle but better

new rubber line for the tracks

Hi res mirrors for all cars

wip to come

hd ui home screen that will allow a few more ingame tweaks to the ffb same as wtcc 2013 and hopefully a song or 2 for the home screen menus possibly btcc theme song $ live in the fast lane lol

24hr hd skies

and 2013 btcc skins

possibly a shader update if I can find one that works on all tracks.  So far the ones I've found only work on new tracks that were made with this shader program

will keep you all posted :)

I added the patch v1.01 from what I read it was a few graphic fixes, added names, paints and 1 track.....nothing I saw about sound upgrades?  So yes you will need the dl from my link....altogether it's only 60 mb

Can someone explain what all the soundpack z01-z08 files are, and also what to do with this fans_normal_1.wav file in the google download link in the first post.

surprise

REF:BTCC MOD EDITING.

Will you be switching to the modern version of the tracks which have different layouts. IE Oulton Park, Donnington, Snetterton 300 etc.

we attempted to use some of the updated tracks before we started the season but they seemed to be causing online mismatches and we have up...not sure 100% if it was the mod not agreeing with some of the tracks or people just having the wrong version....anyways it happened so much we got tired of it and stuck with the ingame track to avoid any issues.

if I was to take a guess...if everyone did a fresh install of rf lite and put the tracks in that mod folder it would most likely work properly but some put all there mod tracks into one location folder and point each mod to that location folder and that was were people were having issues....not being a computer expert I try to keep thing simple :)

I've just been testing the mod, and my personal views are:

WTCC 2013 MOD

I hate the new GUI, it just feels over cluttered (I should be able to switch back to default if you opt for this mod).  The cars handling feels ok,  as a digital gamepad user.

Sound Pack

There's no folder structure in the sound pack, so no obvious indication where all the files go. I had to open the sfx file to read where the sound folders were supposed to be placed. I installed it, and lost  the sound from the other cars. This is probably great for you if your on teamspeak, but i personally use it to tell me if another car is close or along side me trying to overtake. If the other cars are to loud, I just reduce the master volume control for opponent cars in the settings menu. I wont be using the soundpatch.

Head Physics

There's an adjuster in the settings menu on the controller rates. So no modified head physics files for me aswell.

wink

Not hearing the other cars is not made any better by using team speak, teamspeak just lets us communicate much faster than typing which is a pain in my butt being a very slow typer. I might add during the race we are mostly silent, so it would be a real help if you would consider it, you can always mute it during the race. He he I did say I would mention it from time to time. Of course maybe you don't use headphones with mic...

As the local sound files do not create online mismatches not using them will not create problems, and I wont be using any modified head physics either.

As for the UI just select All Cars and Tracks in settings, reload the game and you will be back to the usual UI. Have to say I'm not a grat fan of their UI either so use the normal one myself. :)

The google drive I posted is only the original mod and available updates from the devs....all the extra stuff was stuff I added for my own personal enhancements.  Ui is personal preference some don't like change :) I like modern everything biggest advantage to it for wheel users is the extra ffb features that the original interface doesn't offer like smoothing, wheel weight and force something I really need to be able to adjust I also like that I can one click to multiplayer browser to see who's on while driving offline. Instead of exiting my session to enter the browser.  Again personal preference if you don't like it do what knight has suggested.  One question I need help with can you guys run a single person race leave the game and exit out of the game.  Iam currently having a crash when exiting and not sure if it's the mod or something I've added that's causing it.

cheers

Ah shite wish I had read that earlier...Are you leaving the server up? earliest I can test is tomorrow.

Mango you will find Kurupt to be a junky for all things new, sometimes he digs up a gem, sometimes he causes himself all kinds of issues LOL But it's good to have someone trying all this stuff out for the odd gem. smiley

If were talking about a wtcc server on my side I probably won't have one up till wed.  My plan for the series is to use the wtcc 13 mod with currently 8 short track circuits the majority being isi content...I found a track texture update for all of them by slr/culmone which look great but have yet to test in a server they claim no mismatches.

off the top of my head these were the tracks I propose.  Reason being I loved the race at knock hill the other week and being a small group ATM short track makes for closer better racing.  Also iam gonna work on traing the ai for each track.  If it works properly it will fill the grid and give everyone someone to race no matter where they are on the grid

toban short reverse

mills short

silverstone short

nuremburg sprint

suzuka east

brands hatch short

seabring club

are the front runners as most already have these tracks to help save those with download limits iam thinking of throwing in knochill 2011 cause it was fun :) this also gives a good variety of world tracks.  I think a 8 round season will be good? Than we can switch to s3 of btcc in the beginning of feb hopefully.

iam also open to track suggestions but please keep it to well done short tracks that work properly.  I want to try to finalize the details by the end of the week as s2 will be coming to end this fri if iam correct than will use the following fri to do a group run of this mod to weed out any bugs if that works for everyone?

If I can get all my tweaks working properly ill post 2 dl the original with updates than my tweaked version for those that wanna try.
