As I have written before, we are a diverse group of people whose only common thread is that we are gamers. Some casual and others intense. And even as gamers, we are not consistent. The gamut of games include card/board games, RPG, FPS, RTS, arcade 2D scrollers, sports, and racing games. Our hardware platforms run from handhelds to consoles to PCs.
Yet with all that, we can pull together to help our fellow gamers through trying times of illness, tragedy, injury, and heart break. In between caustic remarks in some threads about each other, politics, Timmies, and games, we help each other with advice, money, and, when possible, direct person to person help for those who need it.
It's hard to believe that a virtual community can do so much for the real people behind the avatars that we so often hide behind.
Thanks, 2old2play for a community that cares and helps its members. Sometimes better than the communities in the real world that we live in.
