Things I don't look forward to doing...

My grandmother passed away on Wednesday - not a real great week for the family. We're all dealing with it, as we knew it was going to occur soon due to the cancer that she had been diagnosed with last week on Thanksgiving (see prior blogs if you care to read it).

Well, tomorrow is the Wake and the next day the funeral. I've been selected along with my cousins as a Pallbearer and I've got to do some of the stuff at the church ceremony. This isn't a day I'm looking forward to dealing with. Tomorrow will be a big cry fest and we'll get to see folks that didn't make it to her bed side in the last week and then the funeral. Man, I wish I could just wake when it was over.

So, needless to say, if you don't see too much news hit 2old2play tomorrow its because of all this stuff. I'll give it my all though.

I offer my condolences, Code. I lost a friend on Thanksgiving day, and his wake is on Saturday. In these times, it is friends and family that you lean on the hardest. Feel free to lean on me, and us as a group.

My families thoughts and prayers are with you man. I am about to go through the same thing I think. My grandmother has had quadruple bypass and now 3 stints put in as of yesterday so things arent looking so good for her. Hang in there buddy, take it from me...things will get better with time. Sorry to hear of your loss. It doesn't matter if you are prepared or not, it still hurts. Remember her life and love and that you all got a chance to be with her and comfort her before her passing. Peace be with you and your family!

Just leave the other stuff and take the time you need. We will all still be here when you come back, I promise. One of the things we did at my grandmother's funeral that was really healing was for each of us to write down something we rememberded about her. The preacher shared these things at the service and it seemed to draw us all closer together. Peace!
