Shared on Sat, 12/09/2006 - 14:20So I was outside doing some last-minute yard cleanup for winter time. Bringing in the hoses and such, as we had a few nights of freezing (and now I cannot fill my hottub because the hoses are frozen and I have to let 'em sit in the garage to warm up).
So... I found my Grill cover on the porch, it wasn't put on last time we used it so it's been sitting on the wood for "some time" (four months probably). I pick it up to put it on and lo and behold a nest of mesquito's. Holy shit, I didn't know they did that. I pull up the thing off the wood and it looks like a big o' pile of dirt - but no - its mesquitos.
I never understood how they made it through the cold winters in NH (sometimes I wish they wouldn't). These little guys seemed to have thought they'd make it "warmly" though the winter without the elements finding them. Well, I kinda woke them up and some of them moved around, others I think were dormant (or dead) just lying there all in a oval ball.
Pretty cool how nature works sometimes. However, I don't feel bad these little bastards are going to freeze to death. I hate mesquitos, stay out of my yard bitches.
