I hate maming a good condition working cabinet. But it's his choice. He decided to mame it. Since he doesn't live far from me I am getting the guts.
I have a double dragon II cabinet that isn't completely working. The electronics work but it has no monitor. The monitor mount is cracked also and it has no marquee holder. But I have all the graphics for it along with the rare white control panel. (It came in two colors, tan and white). Part of this arch rivals deal is I get the monitor. So I will be repairing my double dragon to working condition. Luckily arcade manufacturers standardized everything (JAMMA). So the monitor should be plug and play.
There's this neat product called multijamma which allows you to hook up more than one JAMMA compliant board in a cabinet. Then you just use a button to switch between games. I am going to do that, however there is a problem. Double Dragon uses your standard 8 directional leafswitch joystick (like a dpad on a controller). Arch Rivals uses a 49 way joystick (uses IR to make a 7x7 grid) to make a psuedo-analog feel. It is possible to convert the 49way into an 8way joystick but it takes some circuitry knowledge. I am asking around for help on that.
For those that don;t know, Arch Rivals is a 2 on 2 basketball game with no fouls, you can punch the players. One of my favorite arcade games.
