elite or core
I am thinking about getting a core.
I asked myself, is it worth the extra $180 to get an elite? So far, after talking with a coworker, I think the answer is no.

Premium. End of Story. Elite is cool if you have a bunch of HDMI connections you want to fill up and want to \"save\" on the overpriced disk.\r

The only other selling factor, the elite comes with an HDMI cable - those are costly. So there is some cost savings IF you need HDMI.\r

Who really needs fake 1080p anyway? :)
And by Core I hope he means Premium. Premium is the way to go for now.
Since you have a premium now, all you need is a core really, all your premium parts will swap over. So you could just spend 299 and get yourself a core and you'd be good to go. The main question is do you want HDMI or not. But don't buy a core and then buy the extra 120gb HDD because then you'd be spending just as much as the Elite.
yeah, but if he already has a premium, Why spend the extra $100.00 for the premium when he can use his Harddrive from his old one, wireless controllers. The only difference he will be missing the chrome plated drive \"cover\", big whoop! I recommend saving the $100.00 on the system and put that towards better things.
You guys need to read the past blogs :) My 12-14-05 premium just kicked the bucket. I am debating about waiting for an elite or getting a core.\r

I think I will get a core. The issues hdmi would solve really come down to I need a newer receiver that can except multiple optical inputs.\r

Black is nice but I can get a decal from decalgirl.com.\r

I can get a Datel Xport to backup data onto my unused 200gig hdd so space isn't a problem.
