Cat pictures as promised. We picked up Otis on Saturday afternoon, and brought him straight home. He was quite well behaved in the box, he obviously wasn't happy, but he didn't screech and howl the way a lot of cats do, he seemed to prefer sitting in the corner in a sulk.
We've got him in our spare room just now, with a couple of beds, blankets and some toys. He seems reasonably happy, but he's itching to get out and explore the house. I think settling him in will be the easy part. That being said, we got ahead of ourselves last night and let him down into the living room with my girlfriend, while I stayed upstairs with Annie, to give her a chance to explore the spare room. Big mistake. Otis took it upon himself to pee on the floor behind one of our chairs, which I had to spend the next half hour scrubbing up. Still, it'll serve us right for trying to push things too fast.

Speaking of Annie, she's currently alternating between sulking under the bed, sitting on the bed and sulking, sitting under bed and sulking, sitting out in the garden and sulking. She'll take a lot of work to get her used to the new situation, so we'll just have to take things nice and slow.
Although Otis is settling in okay, he has been crying a bit during the wee small hours, around 3 and 4 seems to be his favourite time to wake up and cry intermittently. Thank God our neighbours are both away just now.

Anyway, without further ado...

This one is Annie, taken a while ago, sitting on my lap.

Another of Annie, resting on one of her climbing frames in our living room.

A final one of Annie, feeling tired after an exciting game of 'Chase the Catnip-filled Ball'.

Here's Otis, sitting in one of his beds.

When Otis 'flumps' down onto the floor, he's quite theatrical about it, compared to Annie's carefully measured style.

Close up of Otis' face, looking rather more leonine than he actually is - blame my camera skills - if you look close, you can see his nose is a little scratched, he must have picked that up last week in the shelter.
