To help keep him growing strong I encourage you, if you haven't already, to look for info on EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids). They are essential because our bodies cannot make them. These are the good fats and they are extremely important for a healthy body.
Postpartum depression can be caused if the mother has a low/poor intake of EFAs in the diet. The baby who is in the mothers belly has high demands of EFAs for the brain and nervous system's development. The baby rips off any reserve the mother may have of EFAs and this causes depression.
A healthy continuous daily intake of EFAs is your best bet against ADD, Depression, Bipolarity, and other mental illnesses.
If you or your wife are eating Soy, STOP NOW !
The only good soy products are those that are both organic and fermented.
