Why I can't put down Halo

I haven't really even played Halo3 since Brainwave and I went through it together on legendary. I have played all of one multiplayer game since I got it back and have had little or no desire to play anymore. For whatever reason though I can't seem to trade it in now. I have admired the Halo line since the original was released. I have even read the novels that coincide with the in game storyline and found them all to be amazing reads. I hold out hope that Halo Wars will be amazing and rekindle my love for the game.

I have felt that the story was greatly harmed when the alliance between elites and humans was introduced. I thought that the struggle against a maniacally zealous foe was a great motivational aspect of the game series. I will never forget how pissed I was when in Halo 2 the first level where you are in the character of an elite began and I was rather pissed off. I had hoped that Halo 3 would somehow rectify this but, in fact it really didn't. The story was kind of old and the emphasis of The Flood did less to revitalize excitement than it did to push annoyance.

And yet, I still can't bear to part with the game. In fact, I want to go through it again and even possibly play some online matches...

Well that was pointless rambling and to make up for your spending the time to read it:
