As per usual, there's no real reason for the gap aside from my stubborn lazy streak, I'm not even going to bother trying to think of a decent lie. I'm too lazy you see.
So, we have had some good news for a change - my girlfriend has managed to land another job in a jewellery shop, this time it's a local shop, so she can walk to it without too much trouble. It's part of a chain, instead of an independent place, but it's part time at 3 days a week, which is exactly what she was after - gives her time to work on her own jewellery at home. She'll have sales targets to aim for, but that's hardly the end of the world.
Also - we managed to convince our insurance company to give us a cash settlement for the water damage to the kitchen units. They're a little warped inside, but the doors and kickplates are all fine, so we're not going to bother getting them fixed up, and have instead decided to spend the money on ourselves. My girlfriend has spent her share on some high-end tolls and equipment that she's been needing desperately to take her jewellery further.
To add to my share, I also recently sold a shedload of old Necron models for Warhammer 40,000 on eBay, so I ordered up some components to put together a new PC - new processor, motherboard and RAM. My graphics card and hard drive are quite new, so no need to replace them. It's well past time I replaced my old rig, as it was seriously starting to show its age. The 40K models I started painting up a while back have kind of stalled, so I want to get some bits together to push on with them, so I've ordered some of the sweet Death Guard conversion kits from Forge World - they'll be a while coming, due to the huge demand for them - see below!
I can't wait for them to arrive, but I've got plenty to be going on with for now, so I won't miss them just yet. I've got a fancy to make up some Nurgle Raptors, so I'm going to try and convert up some pre-Heresy style jump packs for them, I've found a really good tutorial here on Bolter & Chainsword, so I'm going to grab some plasticard in the next couple of days, and crack on with it.
