Rush Limbaugh (not that I'm a particular fan or anything) said on Thursday:

You know, this is a Dan Quayle moment. I mean, Dan Quayle goes out there and misspells 'potato,' and we still hear jokes about it. Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states. Well, I have here a printout from a website called the International Humanist and Ethical U nio n . And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins. 'Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating.

We're participating here in a tweak of the media. Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. 'Every year from 1999 to 2005, the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states,' this is from the International Humanist and Ethical U ni o n. And the title of the piece here is, 'How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council,' and there are 57 of them.

Its has always been said that the only way to defeat America is from within. Looks like they are now within our highiest office. When I say they I mean radical islam, racists, arab nations whom do not like us, and Socialist. In a nut shell I think Obama is the Anti-Christ.

I'm pretty sure that's an example of this crazy thing called "humor". The crowd laughs, and Obama kind of smirks. Rush Limbaugh wouldn't understand. I hear he's off the oxycontin.

I think that is quite a jump to make. And I think that the only person Limbaugh cares about is himself, so I would take everything he says with a grain of salt.

I think it's just another example certain fanaitical Republicans trying to capitalize on the fear of islam in this country. Rush Limbaugh is a stain on the Republican party and will always do more harm than good. He's nothing but a shock jock masquerading as a political commentator. And no, I didn't give you a thumbs down. You didn't attempt to pass this off as fact.You instead offered it up for discussion. Bravo Durty.

It seems like that you left out an important part: 'Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating... The rest of that was..."combating Defamation of Religions" Note the "s" in religions, because it goes on to say that all religions were included, but in particular, Islam. I don't think that would come to a surprise to some. To use that article as a way to "prove" that Obama has some kind of hidden agenda 1) makes no sense, and 2)defeats the whole purpose of the article's subject matter, since I assume RL is trying to paint with a broad brush and using fear tactics and basically saying that all who follow the Islamic religion are extremists.

I just look at this situation as another example of Obama getting a pass from the mainstream media. Hell, Bush or Dan Quail, and you would have seen this played for weeks. SNL skits galor with a huge picture of the united states with 2nd graders counting how many states there are. Come on. His reason behind it, I could care less..sleep, banging the wife too much and hit his head on the Marriot headboard, whatever. We have 2 huge turds to vote for, and please, for the love of GOD, please stop trying to polish them.

Nothing more than an error caused by lack of sleep. Looking any deeper into it is just some peoples way of dealing with the fact that they have lost their power. Most of the country knows by now that RL is a hypocritical piece of shit.

:) I don't agree with everything ANYONE says. I look into things on my own, investigate, read and come to my own conclusions. I have come to my own conclusions about the people we have ended up with for our current presidential race....and I think we are screwed. Utterly and completely fucked. Yay us!! Lol. I don't present anything as fact, I just love discussion on different things. I love to hear peoples opinions on matters at hand.....it's interesting. :) Thanks to everyone for trying to keep things civil....politics and religion can get way out of hand....especially since those are two things that most people feel quite strongly about. You guys are awesome....Mwah!

Oh, and not that I think what I wrote could be taken as an attack or combative, just in case, I wasn't attacking you Durty! Like Azuredreams said, you offered a topic up for discussion. It's just that any discussion involving politics and/or religion is going to bring out spirited responses! lol!
