Bummer of a Holiday

So its the 4th of July...big barbecue planned...ribs, steak, corn on the cob and lots of booze.  Nope...cancelled.  Instead of a night of celebration my family got a night of worry.  The day started off ok...seemed like it was going to go off without a hitch.  Then I go pickup my grandfather from dialysis.  He seems fine..a little tired but ok.  Get him home and he goes in to use the restroom.  Now on dialysis days I have to go in there with him cause he just doesn't have the strength to stand back up on his own.  He says he thinks he's ready so I go to help him up..nope..has to sit back down.  Next thing I know...his right side is shaking in spasms and he slumps over passed out.  He's totally unresponsive so I call out to call 911.  He comes to after a couple of minutes the paramedics show up and help him get out of there and into his wheel chair.  Most of his stats are fine but his bloop pressure is 243/82 so yeah...off to the hospital with him.  They ran a bunch of tests but couldn't really find an answer to what happened other then..maybe it was the heat with the dialysis weakness...either way they kept him till Sunday night...finally released him. Which I got to tell you was worrysome.  Cause the last few times he has been in there they kept him for a week or a little more...and by that time he has weakened so much he has to go to a phys therapy center to help get his strength back up before they will release him which can take up to a month.  So needless to say I am relieved to have my grandfather home once more.  Also a little woried about today.which is another dialysis day.  Hoping today goes better so keep your fingers crossed.

On a side note, I watched some movies this weekend while I was working.  I know..I had to work some this weekend and it sucked.  Anywho...I watched 27 dresses with my mom...wasn't a bad movie...actually has some funny moments, also saw Jumper..again wasn't too bad, but thestory line could have been stronger...lastly I saw Bucket List...now that was a good movie..I'd recommend it to everyone...however it is a bit morbid to watch if you have someone in the hospital.  I sat there after the movie wondering if my grandfather had certain things he wished he could of done or seen then I started thinking about what things I'd like to do.  I'm still young..only 28, but you never know when your time is up.  So..for the rest of the year I am going to make it a point to save money up and the beginning of next year I am going to head to Europe and trek around for a few weeks.  It is something I have always wanted to do and never have.  What are some of the things that you want to do or see while you still can?

Sorry to hear about your plans and your grandfather. At least he's ok, that's the important thing. I've seen all those movies as well. Jumper is the first of a trilogy so i'm hoping the store unfolds a bit more in the next movie.

Glad to hear your grandfather is better. This weekend i got to watch Tin Man the full 3 episodes. It had promise to go the distance if they planned it out better.

Hope your grandfather is doing better :) I would like to take a trip around Europe. Visit Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece. I think I will be able to do that in the next 10 years or so (it's a LOT of money to save up!!!)....and that when I take the trip it doesn't end up being like Hostel or something, lol.

Thanks for all the good wishes for the old man. ^^ I really liked that Tin Man...and yeah..they could have took it farther but it was a decent little mini series. Durty...yeppers...it is a lot of money to save up for, but I thought up a plan. Black market organ sales. *nods* Anyone willing to donate a kidney for a good cause?

Glad he is feeling better, hope it all works out. I dream of writting a blog free of grammatical errors, but I always tend to aim higher than I can get. Insert short joke now.

Well there is this one joke... Why do midgets laugh when they run? Cause the grass tickles their nuts.
