Shared on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 22:42I'm seriousy about to give up gaming period. I haven't been able to play online in weeks. It all started with my 360 headset screwing up and cutting out on me, at first I thought it was just lag but it did it with private messages in the dashboard too. Then it stopped working altogether.
I've tried everything to fix it.
I've cleared the cache
Made sure the NAT is open
Tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers
Made sure my mic settings were set for everyone.
Even used a hard-wired controller to make sure it wasn't being caused by interference from my wireless router.
Xbox support suggested all of these things again and I went through them over and over. Nothing works.
Finally today I bought a brand new ultra spiffy Xbox 360 Elite. Got it all unwrapped and hooked up and toom it for a test fragging. It worked just fine, so problem solved right? Yeah, so I thought. I've been fighting with it all over again and on the phone with support for the last 2 hours because it's doing it again.
It's like the mic isn't even there. It makes that litle popping sound when you first plug it in so I know it's reading that the mic is there. But no one can hear me and it doesn't record my voice at all.
At all.
The only thing that saved that Elite from being smashed all over my driveway is the fact that I can still get a $450 refund for it.
I'm seriously pissed like you've never seen and I may not be back.
