Just a few winter pics with my new camera Nikon D90. I love having a DSLR, it was a little overwhealing at first now I feel like my only limit is me. Very fun and cool.

My X-mas tree going warp speed.

Anna's Hummingbird, we still have 4 of em, this guy partols our 2 feeders. The other morning I went to put out the feeder and he was outside the window waiting for breakfast and landed on the feeder before I even got it hung up.  With it being so cold we have to thaw out the feeders once during the day and bring em in at night.

Pileated Woodpecker, he visits us about once a week.

Nice pictures. I bought a D60 this summer and still haven't figured out how to really use it. I was at my son's basketball game the other day and never could remember how to make it take nonstop pictures while you hold the button down. I need to start carrying the stupid book with me.

Those are some great pictures. So far at my new house i've only seen crows and one hummingbird.

I have taken over 2,300 pics since I got it a little over 2 months ago. I still reference the book often for the D60 there are quick reference guides available, usually camera shops will have em. Link to Amazon http://tinyurl.com/axz58n

I have 2 seed feeders one suet feeder and 2 humming bird feeders out. I get lots of small birds, flickers, 3 kinds of woodpeckers, jays, the occasional crow, and every once and a while a hawk that hunts small birds at the feeders.

Wow, those pictures are stunning. At some point, after the kids are grown and gone, I can see wanting to really understand how to take good pictures. Right now, it's just too busy in life to really figure that out and then be ready to take em. :)

Great pics! Especially the wood pecker. They don't normally venture so close to the ground around here.

Is that the camera from the Ashton Kutcher commercials? Really pretty incredible D.. and 2300! That's a healthy addiction. :)

Awesome pictures! I've been thinking about buying a "real" camera lately since I've found that the point and shoot ones don't really work for aquarium shots...That or I can't figure out the settings. How long did it take you to figure everything out?

TDrag I still have a long way to go before I have everything figured out, but after about 1 month and 1,500 pics I feel like I can get most of my pics that aren't total crap and maybe every 1 in 100 is good. Biggest thing I found is taking 3-4 pics of each subject with different settings, and never shooting in the auto setting. I have started taking my camera with me everywhere and taking pics of anything when I have a few free moments.
