I'm Bored

So I made this blog as an outlet to throw out my musing's and annoyances (of which there are many) and to communicate with other's who are just too damn old to be playing games.

Quick Bio: I've lived in the Chicago Area all my live, growing up in the south suburbs, living in the city for awhile prior to settling in a small suburb bording the city with my cat and dog. I also work here, promoting tourism for the area. I fell into the tourism industry at a very young age and 19 years later here I am. I spent 12 years in Chicago prior to coming out here and it's really a fun industry to be in, despite the economic times you go through. Working in tourism has allowed me to travel and see things I just would have never experienced otherwise. My favorite place currently is Amsterdam and despite the obvious links why, it's a great destination to see and I hope to get back there next year to celebrate the big 4 0. I'm a Cub fan, I love burrittos, Howard Stern, vodka and cartoons and spent much of my late teens and early 20's at concerts experiencing life.

After finishing my MBA I found I had an enormous amount of time on my hands and dabbled in a few things but I had always been into gaming and had a ps2 at the time with Killzone and Resident Evil being my fav's. I had played Diablo and the first Fallout on PC as well as experimented with Ultima Online which I didn't care for. I had heard about this game World of Warcraft and after seeing the South Park episode, pulled the trigger and dloaded a trial version for 10 days. I had no idea wtf I was doing, there were these options of servers that were explained somewhat to my satisfaction and without any thing else to go on I chose a PVP server rationalizing that there were likely older, better players here. I made a night elf warrior and I couldn't pull myself away from the game. Before I knew it my 10 days were up and I gladly pluncked down the cash to keep my fix going. Here I sit 2.5 years later, with a host of characters. I've done a lot in the game, I've tried to experience most of what I could but I do probably play way more than I should.

So my annoyance today is the Sirius online site. When I first got Sirius to listen to Howard Stern, I was happy to find I could log on the web and hear it live. At some point last year they put in an annoying trigger that every hour will interupt whatever you're doing and ask you if you're still listening. So, if I'm in the middle of something in WOW (playing at work? omg) this stupid thing will pop up and it knows to do it exactly when I'm fighting something, causing me many deaths. But, what's even more annoying is that they're changing it yet again and requiring you to reup your subscription in order to keep hearing it online. So, the past several days I've followed the links, I've typed in that blurred random code generated more than I like and end up at a screen saying that they can't process my request call 888-xxx-xxxx......So now they'll get a call from an annoyed customer.
