So, show of hands. Who is upset about Michael Phelps getting caught pulling a bong? I always find it amusing when people get so upset when someone is "caught" getting high or using marijuana, however one entity that didn't find it funny was Kellogg's. Kellogg's who had no problem hiring Phelps who had a history of alcohol issues and even a conviction for drunk driving, promptly dropped Phelps from his sponsorship after the reports came out stating Phelps' conduct as "not consistent with the image of Kellogg." Now this is the same company that as Seth Meyer's so elequently stated on a recent SNL has "......mascots is a wild-eyed cartoon character with uncontrollable munchies," and ".....products that sound like a wish a genie granted at a Phish concert." I lawl'd especially at Meyer's comment "Really? You have the Kebbler Elves...a bunch of guys who live in a tree and do nothing but think of new things to put cheese on, really" The whole thing was pretty funny and I'll have to post the link because I can't figure out how to make it just appear (anyone help me?) http://www.hulu.com/watch/56636/saturday-night-live-really-michael-phelps

Apparently getting drunk, getting behind the wheel and getting a conviction for drunk driving is cause for a multi million dollar contract and pulling a bong at a party is cause for dismissal. Several groups have called for a boycott of Kellogg products: "It's not just that Michael Phelps did what millions of other twenty-somethings do," said Ethan Nadelmann, executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance. "It's that he did what over one hundred million Americans have done at least once in their lives, including the president, former presidents, members of the U.S. Congress and Supreme Court." Now, as I sit here eating my strawberry frosted pop tarts it would be easy to think that this is just not going to be a big deal to Kelloggs, after all the product base is so wide, so diverse that people will be consuming a Kellogg product without actually consciously knowing they're doing it. But after doing more searching, the boycott seems to have had an affect. I found from chattahbox.com that "a new report released from Silicon Alley has shown that Kellogg’s has moved from the reputation of 9th in the country, to 83rd, making it clear that the pot smoker’s threats of a heavy boycott worked the way they said it would. Not even an industry-wide peanut scare inflicted as much damage on the food company’s reputation, the report claimed." At it's base it seems like it may be working but come on, there's one reality to the whole thing. At some point the boycotters will forget or cave in I mean for obvious reasons...ReAlLy.

Annoyance of the day: Well, heck it's early and i'm unusually not annoyed really at anything except the thought of finishing our Naxx raid tonight only to have the f*&^ing ax not drop yet again. As people grow continually weary of going into that place, my chances of ever seeing it are pretty small yet there's the bright new dungeon they'll release before Easter which will drop many other things I'll spend months farming and so much time that I can ghost walk back to my corpse in my sleep. And then when I'm 75% geared, they'll release another one or the final one before they announce their next expansion at the upcoming Blizzcon (who really thinks they won't?) If I could only make money playing that game....legally.....
