For The Love of Sag J

Playing WOW as much as I do leave little time for anything else. There's a host of movies I haven't seen and tv viewing is reduced mostly to listening with the occasional glance. As such, I have the TV on in the background playing re-runs, cartoons and reality shows mostly from VH1. I'm hooked on those stupid shows from Flava of Love, Rock of Love, Love of Money, Real Chance of Love, Charm School and the like. Yea, they're pretty stupid but entertaining and something I don't have to pay a lot of attention to. Produced by Mark Cronin who got his start on the Howard Stern show, they all carry a similar theme; Main character persues a gaggle of love interests in the hope of making a connection. After watching these shows for a number of years I find them inherently flawed and not just these shows but other similar ones like the bacherlor, etc. How "real" is it to expect someone to fall in love with someone within a 2-4 week time frame and then sit there for 4-6 months while they edit and produce and air the show? These shows may air for 2-3 months but the taping is very short then they sit there on orders to not see the person they picked or interact in anyway so that at the reunion show many months later, they reunite and either proceed with the relationship or move on. Shocking as it may be, no one's every found love on any of these shows. Not one. They've found sex...tons of it, booze, debotchery of all kinds which makes these shows really the entertainment they are and keeps people like myself tuning in from week to week. I mean, this seasons Rock of Love they're filming on a bus. Now, the first two seasons they poked and hinted this year, Bret's thrown caution to the wind and is just screwing these girls like a dog in heat. Seriously, each week he picks one from the harem, pulls them into the bus and then you see them do the walk of shame back to the room only to be confronted and hated by the other girls. Then you hear them in their private sessions complain "I haven't been on a solo date with Bret yet and I'm pretty upset....." LOL....Now, as a guy I love looking at some of these girls and Lacey from season 1 and the past years Charm School 2 is one of my favorites. I've always had a spot for red heads and Lacey in the catholic school girl outfit is pure win. This season he has a few bleach blode big tittied bimbos who, ok ya you'd probably do but come on...you're not walking around with them or taking them home to meet your mom. The one I like this season is Taya....Taya Parker, Penthouse Playmate of the year. A bit snobbish some say, but as Howard Stern would say, "What a P.O.A". This past weeks episode Taya took to a stripper poll like a puppy to their mom's teet. Three cheers. Finally there's a new one, For the Love of Ray J. Ray J is Brandy's the singer's brother and has a successful recording act of his own. People really know him from doing Kim Kardashian and releasing the video which is the only reason she's a celebrity and so now he's cashing in as well. This group of girls in his stable are pretty classy but you can see where this stream of reality tv is starting to jump the shark. You're starting to see girls who have no love for Ray J but are looking to get noticed. Now you've always had that and you'll see the girls try to get other girls thrown off the show for that but as I've said above, how realisitc is it for these people to expect to find love? This is a vacation for them, they're on TV and the longer they stay on, the more attention they pull to themselves will benefit them. How? They get recycled into other shows.....Charm School, for the Love of Money or get their own reality shows which I'll be looking at as well. As long as they don't air anything else with New York in it or her annoying mother who I'd like to throw off a cliff. What an annoying pain in the ass. As for me, I'll have to blog later about my dating experience of which I could probably write a book.

Annoyance of the day: The economy. Every day it continues to get worse and it will not hit bottom. This not only affects me personally but professionally as it's not a great time to be working for a Non-Profit. Everyone's cutting back and everyday I lumber into the office and want to slap the next person who says "well, you'll just have to do more with less" Guess what asshole, at some point you do less with less.

Dunno if you get the Oxygen Network, but "Bad Girl's Club" blows all of those out of the water. Oh, and they have "Snapped" also. That is my background station for TV.
