Weekend Smeekend

I had somewhat of an extended weekend with my friend Lisa crashing at my place Thursday and Friday night. We went to see the Watchmen on Friday. Now, I knew nothing about the Watchmen and saw the clip for this film a month or so ago after it was suggested by someone in guild chat that it was a good one to see. I hardly ever see movies in theaters anymore and I can likely count on one hand the number I've seen in the past 2 years in a theatre, so this was kinda neat to get out for once. I bought tickets online as I always have and we picked them up early and thought that the girl who took my credit card, swiped it and gave me my tickets, would be in need of a job at some point. She's fortunate to be working in a suburban theatre, a historic one at that which hasn't advanced into the new age and bought machines that you can go up to on your own, swipe your card and get the tickets thus making this girls job uneccessary.

Anyway, got the tickets and some food and saki at the sushi place up the street then went and settled in for what I read would be a near 3 hour film. I liked the film, there were aspects I had questions about.......most notably why they couldn't cover up the blue cock that was being constantly shown. Most powerful being in the universe and he can't fashion up at thong? And then he'd split himself in to multiple copies, making multiple blue cocks...kinda funny. None of the other personalities were really super heros in the sense that they had special gifts like Dr. Manhattan (mr. blue cock), but they had neat outfits and personalities and could kick some serious ass. The movie went to lengths to attempt to provide explanations for a lot but things like Rorschach's ability to move the patterns on his mask was never explained. Then he had the mask taken off and he was your normal angry little irish guy that you stay away from at a bar. Anyway I did like the movie, there was a lot of action, quite a few quality kills and interesting characters. Not sure if there will be a sequel as the ending didn't really leave that open and a few of the toons were dead but I'm sure they can craft something that may take place prior to this one or something else.

Saturday I packed up my dog Drake and headed south. It's my Mom's b-day this week and my nephew's as well so the family had one of those all in one b-day celebrations. I have 3 brothers, 1 sister and 8 nieces and nephews so I don't go down for everything I mean I'd be down there virtually every week. My oldest brother is an accountant and was nice enough to do my taxes for me since my usual guy is sick this year and has been in and out of the hospital. Fortunately, I did get another decent refund that'll go to pay off one of many lingering debts and to finally buy some new clothes which I need pretty bad. My nephew got one of those Nerf guns that shoot nerf bullets at a pretty good speed. After pumping it 20 times the air blows 10 nerf bullets at whatever you point it at. I ended the night at my friends house where unfortunately Drake felt the need to mark their couch due to the attention I was getting by their dog. Stuff like that is so embarrassing but I don't believe he did more than dribble on it so thankfully it wasn't much to clean up and it wasn't on a carpet. My friends have 2 kids as well so it was fun to see them, one of which is my Godson.

I drove home yesterday very hung over and the dreary day didn't help. Watching Rock of Love last night, my girl Taya almost got the boot but Bret wisely booted the ridiculously large chested Farrah, thus putting a nail in the coffin of the Blondeterage. Bret seems to like Ashley, especially after doing her at least 2ice by my count so by eliminating Kelsey last week and Farrah this week Bret is hoping she'll eliminate some of her more annoying habits that were prompted by the other girls. Ashley's a bitch, and an annoying one. Just watching her talk you makes you wand to smack her repeatedly. Next week Bret's bringing back another annoying bitch Heather to judge the girls that are left as well as bringing in their old boyfriends. My guess for next week is either Beverly or Brittanya as Brittanaya has nothing to talk about and is seeing taking a swing at Heather which is a no-no. I think Taya will end up taking it but after this last week she'll need to step it up a bit.

Finally, the geek and the fat chick won Tool Academy. This show lived up to its name.

Annoyance of the day: Coming back to work and having 3 messages from the same person. 1 message is quite enough, leaving 2 more only ensure the word "asshole" runs through my mind repeatedly before, during and after I call you.
