Shared on Tue, 04/21/2009 - 16:18Many folks may know me as "Editor of 2old2play" while others know me as "that guy that doesn't shutup on the podcast." People who have been on 2old2play for a few years now recall I took the reigns as the chief editor for the site when publishing articles on the homepage, the old 2old2play Magazine and assisting when I can with press, developer interviews and such.
You've probably also noticed the slowdown in posts and the fact that I've not really published any of my own custom content in awhlie, maybe two years or so. Once upon a time I had more free time to compose editorials and topics for the site but have had a lot of things going on in real life and with my own business opportunities including starting a video show about cocktail making and promoting it. I've also got my own gaming podcast at gamingpodcast.net and help out when I can at gamestooge.com.
Drost has stepped up to do a more consistent editing job and, even better, he's an actual editor so he knows his stuff; I was just here to pretend and clean things up a bit. His edits are going to be more professional and front-page worthy. As of now, 2old2play's Editor will be Drost. This means that if you send email to "editor (at) 2old2play" their going to be shot over to him.
I appreciate everyone tolerating me as the editor and helping me out with edits/fixes over the last few years. It's time to let someone that knows more about the subject deal with it in a more professional manner. We've also got a small team of folks to help edit, help contribute and produce content. The big issue, that is on my plate to solve, is fixing the publishing system for the next version of the 2old2play website. Doodirock and I know of all the issues that exist with todays editing system, queue submission and posting problems -- many of these issues are all "under the hood" problems that we hide from view but they're real. They need fixing. Hopefully such fixes will make it possible to bring on more contributors with ease and get more content on the site.
I wanted to make this more officially, and this seems like a good place to start (I'll see if someone with admin can post in the Announcements area).
From now on I'll focus my energy more on co-hosting the podcast and pushing along V3 of the site. If you need a way to reach me and would typically have used the "editor" e-mail, you can send it to my gmail account (schommer (at) gmail.com) and I'll get it.
