This wasn't an easy decision as I've been a loyal Blackberry user for seven years and my last daliance with non-berry phones wasn't enjoyable. I went in ahead of the release of the new phone, picked up the old one and put a new one on order which arrived 1 week later. It took me a while to get used to it things were much different and emails were not going out consistently and the software wasn't installing correctly to sync, but by the time the new one arrived I had for the most part resolved all of my issues and was having fun. This thing did stuff that was quite neat. After the software issues were resolved the syncs were pretty smooth and I had my calender and other stuff on there. Then I started to learn about "apps". There are apps for everything, and I dloaded a few free ones that were neat such as the level and compass, chess game and some other things more useful like Yelp. Yelp is a very cool utility which will allow you to find anything based on your location. The Iphone utilizes a GPS type system so for this or anything else, it will base results on your location if you tell it to. So, for example you're looking for a dry cleaner it'll ask you if you want to use your current location and then show you all the results within your immediate vicinity. And, Yelp is a social type site so every result will come with reviews from people that use it. I signed up immediately and began reviewing businesses myself. find a business you like, you can get directions and map from your current location. This was fun so I searched for more apps and dloaded the Mapquest application which gives me point to point directions as if it was a GPS device. Now, I also learned this was uncessessary as when you select a name from your address book and click on the address, it immediately pulls up a map and offers you directions on the bottom. There's a Sirius/XM app I dloaded to listen to that, however was extremely dissapointed to learn I could not listen to Howard Stern on it, which was the main reason I dloaded it to begin with. There are true GPS systems you can buy for $30 and dload on to the system but shit, I'm happy with what I have now. And I haven't even gotten into the music aspect aside from getting my Godfather ring tone. The process of that was neat too as you got to select any part of the song vs. settle for some pre recorded piece. Every week I find something new this does and I'm extremely happy with it.
