RDR

So I just got my copy RDR in the mail yesterday and I have to say that short of the 3 missions you have to complete at the beginning. I spent 2 happy hours roaming around Armadillo  not actually accomplishing a damn thing and it didn't bother me. Rockstar I hope you keep my interest the whole time i'm playing unlike GTA IV did. Oh and from now on I'm not saving anyone anymore.

I have been up in the air between RDR and Alan Wake but I think you just made up my mind for me. I love the free roam in games like GTA and Saints Row and it sounds like it's at least as good in RDR.

Actually i think Freeroam totally missed the boat, there's so much potential there and really there's sweet fuck all to do with your friends unless you want to take down a hideout for the 100th time. Some of the challenges give you XP some don't, not sure what's up with that. They could have done so much more with freeroam. I'm hoping future DLC will expand the capabilities in this mode becasue there's so much potential

The single player should hold your attention. It's got a decent story line and a wide variety of story related missions to do. The thing that you may get bored of is some of the challenges to get your 4 legendary ranks, sharpshooter, hunter, survivalist and treasure hunter. Three of them are ok and fun and at times challengin but survivalist was boring , roaming around vast spaces looking for flowers to pick? give me a break. I'll give you two tips though: Only pick the flowers when you're at that level and it requests. If you already picked 10 of whatever before you get tot he level asking you to, the 10 you already have don't count you gotta go pick 10 more. The other tip is keep your flowers, don't sell them. You'll run across stranger missions who want you to pick flowers for them. If you already have them you can save yourself even more flower picking. But ya i'd say the entire single player is top notch probably one of the best sandbox games i've ever played. The multiplayer comes up way short of that though.

It should keep your interest. I just got my 100% and it was for most of the time, very very enjoyable.

They are adding some co-op free roam stuff to RDR in June. You probably could check it out over at the Rockstar Social Club.

I lost honor points for shooting some asshat that tried to horse-jack me last night... That was pretty shitty. I am determined to play it for a bit since I shelled out all that dough for it. However, I got a $20 gift certificate from Amazon for pre-ordering it. Then I got a $5 credit for Amazon mp3 store for having purchased the game. If I trade it in now I sorta will have made money on it... Gamestop here I come?
