Things have been so incredibly busy for me the last few weeks. I have no idea how I've become the go-to guy for multimedia anything in my circle of family/friends, but somehow I've been getting offers for small projects. My mother in law calls me every day asking for graphic design and publishing help for a book she is working on (I have no experience in publishing or graphic design, I'm just the only person she knows that can use Photoshop). A girl that used to work for me has asked me to DJ her wedding next weekend (all my DJ experience is in the radio industry... weddings suck!). My wife is the maid of honor for a wedding, and she asked me to produce a DVD game for the bridal shower next month, and I've got a couple small audio engineering projects I'm working on for Gamer-Grafix. I'm not complaining about any of it - the audio and video production stuff is what I love doing, so I welcome projects like that despite the fact that they keep me busy.
The last week at the office has also been the most eventful and out-of-the-ordinary project I've ever worked on. But I'll reserve that for a later blog - I promise, it's an awesome story.
Back to the title of the thread. Despite my crazy busy schedule this summer, I've found a bit of time to play some Xbox. Game of the week was completely accidental, though... I was in Walmart and stumbled across Toy Story 3 on sale. My son loves everything Toy Story so I picked it up thinking it's a dumb game we can play together. I was so wrong - it's a great game and not just for kids. For the most part it's not that challenging but several levels contain some great puzzles. It's incredibly diverse as well - some parts of the game are sandbox-style, while other levels are platformers. For example, early in the game you control Buzz Lightyear in a video game within the video game, a sci-fi platform/3rd person shooter. I have RDR sitting on the shelf waiting to be played but I have a feeling I'll play all the way through Toy Story 3 before going back.
There was a blog a couple days ago about a Forza 3 community play date tonight, which I will try to get on. Not sure if it will fit in my schedule but hopefully I'll see some of you there.
Lastly, tomorrow is my birthday so I bought myself an iPad. Happy birthday, me!
