2011 Victory demo ride

I test drove the 2011 Victory Cross Country and Cross Roads this weekend.  That didn't help me decide between having a permanent fairing or not.  The Cross Country has it's own positives - enough differences with the Cross Roads that makes it tempting.  Either way I will definitely want a 2011 model over a 2010.  The tweaks are very nice.

Picture proof I was there form the dealer's facebook page:

I would get the Cross Roads if I could fnd someone to make a Cross Country style removable fairing.  It just need to be a shell like the fairing I posted in a previous blog.  Or if I could find someone who had an accident and had a totaled bike but the fairing was good - which probably won't happen.

The Cross Country I tried had the new trunk on.  I wouldn't get it because it is really expensive but it is very good quality.  Speakers, brake like, 12v power jack, and easily enough room for two helmets.  If you want a long distance bike with plenty of cargo go with the Cross Country with trunk and reverse motor.  Storage would be a little more than a Goldwing and about the same amount of power.  The Goldwing would have the advantage in feature though.  More gadgets, ABS brakes, linked brakes, and has been around long enough to have plenty of aftermarket parts.

Thanks to the Cross bikes this was a record selling year for Victory.  In fact, out of all the big name production bike manufactures Victory is the only one where sales went up for 2010.  I'll probably be helping out their 2011 sales.
