Comic Con

Coolest Mom of a Teenager award goes to one of my piano students: she works for the company that puts on trade shows and the like, and happens to be working on the team that's doing Comic Con. Rather than just go about her business, she takes her kid (my former student) along to San Diego to actually experience Comic Con. This kid is over the moon about it (rightly so). Just had to give her a big high five for shelling out the extra $$ for the flight, scoring the kid a ticket, and be willing to bring him along to a work gig that she knows he'd get a kick out of. He's the biggest comic fan I've met yet, so this is his lucky day for sure! On a related note, a guy I grew up with will be out there too- he wrote "Give 'Em Hell, Malone"- Mark Hosack. Cool guy, great screen writer too. :)
