Shared on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 18:27I was out at a local GoodWill Thrift store a few weeks ago and came across this Generation I XBox and 6" Joytech LCD screen for $50. I hadn't seen one of these video screens before and took the plunge and purchased the setup. I figured, worse case scenario, I could mod the Xbox and get my money back if the LCD did not work. The big challenge was that the video screen requires a supplemental power supply, which was missing. After some research on the web, I got the specs for the original power supply and ordered something that fit the specs online. Well the new PS came in today and at first it seemed that the format of the plug was not going to fit into the video screen power in tap. However, after a few minutes, I realized that the internal hardware of inside the monitor case had shifted and with a little effort I was able to get things to line up again. I put power to the system and Voila! Check out the video below (coming as soon as my video camera recharges so that I can transfer the video to Youtube).

Joytech also made similar units for the PS2, XBox 360 and PS3, so keep your eye out at your local thrift store. Who knows, you might come across one for a reasonable price.
