Joining us in-studio on Friday will be:
We will showcase gameplay from several of these players across multiple game modes and maps, as well as discuss the current sandbox tuning during and after their matches. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on and hope to see you at 2pm on our Twitch.tv channel!
I see 8 names there. So I guess we can maybe assume that they will playing eachother in FFA and 4v4 gametypes?
Welp. That means Ninja's stream is going to be filled with more triple kills than it usually is.
"in studio" - ...because the Black Screen and game-boot features are working just fine on XBL!
Sorry, is this to test upcoming changes then? Or is it to demonstrate previous changes with commentary? Let me know.
Honestly, I think it's right in the middle. They're proposed changes that aren't implemented, but they're being tested out, in real time, if you want to watch.
It's marketing. Simple marketing. I think we forget just how layered MS is. It's similar to Government services. Everybody has their rules and roles to play.
Start time in 39 minutes.
In progress.
PR stunt, "Check out what we're thinking about making this game capable of doing. Then see that we half ass it".
CoD Ghosts anyone?
Is it finished?
I was referring to Halo. ;)
Don't know who went 12-42, but ouch.
Ugh, I'm going to die so fast.
Then again, DMR/LR combo with Camo and extended radar.
Gotta learn how to play the game, sir.
Wish they would have showcased some larger maps to see the differences with the DMR. We mainly only saw the BR, carbine, and some of the light rifle. : /
They've only got 8 testing, right?
Yeah, but they could have at least played on a medium size map, say Harvest or Complex (even though Complex is terrible). I just wanted to see the new red dot range of the dmr and how it performs at a distance. Difficult to do on Skyline and Haven.
Adrift is mid sized. Complex is not. Your point is accurate on the last part, though: it is harder to see that on Skyline and Haven.
If they barely touched the DMR let's hope that means it was done well, rather than this is all just PR BS. :)
Complex isn't big either. If you put 8v8 on that map, it's very small and cramped. So I'm not sure what you would qualify Complex.
"Terrible".
With old folks comes Matlock reruns and a reduced sense of taste. I'm really not sure why people like that map. Too big for 4v4, too small for 8v8, no vehicles, yet the vehicles on it screw it up. It has no flow, no unifying feature, and plays like three small maps smashed together.
My summary bullet points for this event.
2. Community members at the event were appropriate to the purpose.
3. Experienced Halo players could see the improved kill times of the BR.
4. DMR hasn't lost it's killing power at close to mid range..
5. LR's new capabilities did not get well shown or tested.
6. Comparison of the DMR/LR at longer ranges was not demonstrated.
7. The automatics were shown but I could not discern a change.
8. Magnum may have shown some of its new strength.
9. Carbine did not demonstrate its changes well for me but it was much used.
10. The stream's video quality was almost too terrible to tolerate but the audio was good and the commentary was excellent.
11. Vehicles turrets did not get demonstrated as I had hoped.
12. The event was appropriate in length but I would have watched more if old/new weapon comparisons had been included.
13. 2old2play members unavailable to watch, didn’t really miss much.
Deep, are you looking forward to these changes then? That is, do you think they're going to be an improvement, and worthy to play in matchmaking and customs? Just want thoughts of those who watched it.
Also, did it succeed in bullet point number 1?
I'm fairly sure 343i succeeded in engaging the community. I saw nearly 5,000 watching which shows there is interest. I think the information flow from the hosts was probably more informative than the actual gameplay. It never hurts to reward or recognize deserving members of the community either.
Some changes I will welcome.
LR and DMR matching.
Automatics, buff.
Carbine buff.
Magnum buff.
Turret buff for Warthog and Mantis.
Some changes that worry me.
BR buff. I already die too quickly from this weapon.
Automatics, auto aim reduction.
