Audi TT V6 - fully tunable (Starting soon)
I'm toying with a series using the 04 TT with a RWD swap. I have a build which you can fully tune. Also planning on giving a PI allowance on top of the build, to allow people to customise the build. Not sure how well it would work. Needs testing.
Instead of handicaps i've been playing around with weight reduction changes, and I need to test these out too.
Initially this is just a one off for fun test session.
Tracks for the night will be MLS and Road Atlanta. Exact format on the night.
So if you think you might enjoy tinkering with builds, tunes and handicaps, let me know. Base tunes will be gifted for your tweaking.
I already have Snoop on the books. Cheers!
Yep I'm in for this one.
Being able to tune, on top of finding different/creative ways to deal with the handicap.
Not sure about this car but one way of working with handicaps in the Escort that I was testing with was using stock size vs max width tires. On that car though the max width tires were very wide for the weight of the car.
The other was for those who just couldn't keep up using the buckets available a displacement increase boosted power.
Just ideas, or experiences not suggestions.
I'd love to help but can't tune for shit, sorry Poids.
Send Parcells the build please Poids. Long weekend for me so I should be able to make this weeks test session.
@BMW - I'm open to ideas. Going to try weight first.
@Fitzy - don't matter. Most of us will be happy to share tunes. It would be very useful to have you on board as you are a similar pace to Parcells and myself when racing.
@ Parcells - will do
will send out tomorrow. Tied up at work at the mo.
Will actually require you to have 2 builds of the same car stashed away. not difficult. I'll supply both builds as tunes via gift - a light and heavy. Intending the light being the default car. I want to test how the heavy fares in racing.
I will also post details of the extra PI points you can play with here. No limits on the tuning.
Undecided about whether sim damage and drags? I kind of want to, but at the same time, i want everyone to have fun...not for it to end in a smoking wreck.
Not feeling well Fitzy? Been waiting for you to pounce on this ludicrous declaration of Poids or maybe you just forgot to ridicule me or is it becoming too easy for you? Don't worry bud I can handle it :) Feel free to use one of these if you want to...
1) How dare you compare moi to that barely-stable Canadian.
2) Comparing my driving skills to Parcells is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
3) If by similar you mean way faster I'm in agreement.
Put me down for testing poids
OK, these will go out shortly. Anyone else want them, shout out.
What to do
2 tunes will be gifted - a heavy with pi c415 and a light with pi b465.
Both builds have the following compulsory upgrades already included
RWD conversion
Race - brakes, springs, ARB, cage
Tyres - full width
Aero - Forza front and back
The light build has race weight reduction
The heavy build has street weight reduction
What now?
You have In both cases 35 pi to play with.
You can't remove anything and you cannot change weight reduction up or down.
You must add a custom bumper and sideskirt of your choice.
You can add anything else within the pi limits.
Maximum Race pi for the light is therefore B500.
Maximum Race pi for the heavy is therefore B450.
TUNE to your hearts content
Notes
In my own testing on Atlanta Full the Heavy is about 2.6 seconds slower with the 35 pi being used on power. Have not tried a grip spend. The light build 35 pi was also spent on power.
Of the tunes I will gift, only the light has had any time spent on it. Works well for me when taken up to B500 - pretty loose and tail happy. The heavy "feels" heavy, and needs some love.
Hope that is reasonably clear ;)
I'll give it a try and will gladly take the builds. Thanks
Awesome!!! :)
Send them over boss and ill give them a try
Stevie and Grim - send them out tonight if I get a replacement game disc today!
I needed to buy this car, I don't have many 4 wheeled cars. So it needed a lick of paint.
I love that fitzy. If you keep the cars within PI limits you can change the rims.
I have always liked the look of the mk1.
Have you built the light version up to PI500 and taken it for a spin yet?
I should give it a go later.
Poids the heavy tune is C415 if I add only 35PI it's only C450 not B450.
Nevermind I'm stupid, 450 is B not C.
Looking at my heavy build right now. Says B450. Confused!
Think threshold for b class is 425?
Parcells I didn't comment on this as it's a fair assessment, in recent races there has been no difference between us. Trust me if I was sure I was faster than you I would shout it from the tallest building I could find. Also it's a bit unusual for you to put youself down like this. Are you ok?
You gullible bastard LOL. I'm fine AND I figured if I properly word it I could bait you into saying something positive about Parcells and you fell for it hook line and sinker :)
"fair assessment"....thats the nicest thing you ever said about me. :)
Looks like we will have a battle of audio companys Fitzy (nice paint btw)
These paint up real nice.
So they look pretty.
Are they going to race pretty?
LOL
Im running mid to high 1:36's at Road Atlanta with the light build. Have not tried the heavy build yet. Will work on them a bit more over the next few days
Damn it. Now I'm going to have to throw a paint on mine.
A 1:36 something is where I'm at after a few laps in the light. Maybe .3 to come
The heavy was 1:38.8 after 4. Reckon it should do a 1:38 flat best in my hands.
Question is, what can Church or Jonny etc do in the heavy ;)
Perhaps I need to put a medium weight together - 3 levels of car weight.
I was thinking the same thing. 2 second differential is like going from0% hdcp to 10% in one jump. Perhaps have a sport weight reduction option as well.
I will get some testing in tonight. Been real busy with r/l this week
Sure thing gunny. Hoping it will just be some fun racing.
Send me an FR or can someone gift gunny the base light/heavy tunes.
Anyone else. This would be an ideal one for new guys to have an outing.
Parcells will give these rides a go later today (stupid rain ruining golf), not sure if gunnys a friend of mine but if he is I'll send over and let you know.
Just throwing it out their...instead of an intermediate weight what about offering less pi upgrades to work with the light build?? if nothing else to confuse the matter, you're welcome.
