Thursday Night - Site Wide - Casual Competitive Halo 4
NOTICE: I (DEEP NNN) am no longer hosting this event. While it can continue as before, it will be up to the participants to choose a format which best suits them.
Every Thursday Night ~9:00 to 11:00 Eastern 2old2play will be hosting Halo 4 parties. Any member of 2old2play.com can participate.
As of Sept. 16, 2013, two parties may be enabled within the operating window. DEEP NNN (me) and Bluestar (the other guy) will be your hosts. We will start with one party up to 16. If enough other members are ready and willing to play, Bluestar will start a new party. I expect the two parties will merge later in the evening when the participants begin to drop out. Some parties may extend beyond the operating window and that time is not governed by these guidelines.
Send us an XBLive text message with "Inv" in it if you can't get in via a gamertag.
If the parties get full, someone may be asked to host a another party. Or you could start your own party using similar attributes. Parties should comply with the attributes listed below but variation will depend on many factors.
Attributes of the Thurday Night Site Wide Party:
Party Settings: Friends Only, to allow easy access to the party. Please police your friends that are not 2old2play members, but we are not about booting out good people who might join 2old2play.
Customs only: No Matchmaking between 9:00 and 11:00 Eastern.
All Skill ranges: That means terrible to excellent.
Your personal attitude: Should be very forgiving and fun loving for this event.
Style of Gameplay: Casual competitive. Even scrubs want to win.
Gametypes: Mostly Default Slayer, CTF, etc and slightly odd custom variants (not vomit inducing endless confusion). Betrayal Booting: will be turned off.
Maps: Mostly Default with a few custom variants. This is not a night for experimenting on newly built maps (expect a little bit). I figure some people will not have DLC maps so we go with disk based if we have to but it is recommended you acquire all the DLC if you like your experience.
Tbagging: Of course but use discretion. I welcome a good Tbag because I will then hunt you down like a dog and give you a prize you won't forget. ;)
Other Personal Conduct: 2old2play's TOS should be a benchmark but I have not fleshed out this point yet..
This is a 2old2play.com member all inclusive event.
UPDATE: Parties should be set to INVITE ONLY starting January 17, 2014 and until further notice.

FYI. I was sticking to mostly Infinity Slayer because the game is so new to everyone. I'll add more gametypes as the weeks roll by.
Great times last night. Even played first time on some of the maps. I do like the Saw!!
Ask Medic how that worked out for him at the LAN.

Tonight is the night. I will be on as per usual. For those not on my FL, please use the Halo GT stickied in this forum and also jump in with any friend that is playing with us. If the party is full, please consider starting a new one but we will split into more parties as required too. We will finish games in progress first.

I only had time for a few tonight but it was fun as always. Thanks for the invite! I must say though, the Hog Mania we played tonight was a lot more fun than the version we had for Reach. Sticky Detonator FTW! :-)

Thanks for the good games guys. I had a blast. That is up to the 2 rounds of wall hacks. Not sure why someone felt the need to cheat to win. I thought a private room full of adult gamers was above that sort of thing.
Anyway, I'll play again next week. Hopefully we can keep that sort of behavior out of our games.
To be fair, not only did I not win, but I scored zero kills while inside the wall. I can't say the same for the other person who used the exploit.
However, do not fear, for one of the parties who used the wall exploit has already seen punishment for it, me. I broke a rule, and a moderator contacted me using appropriate channels to inform me of the results of the rule being broken.
Also I thought a site full of adult gamers would be above petty name calling and insults. Not directed at you, Lala Calamari, of course.
Edit - the posts with me being called certain offensive names seemed to have been removed. Well that's good at least.
In any event, I was informed of the rule that I broke, had appropriate action taken against me by a responsible moderator who used correct channels to do so. This to me is perfectly acceptable and the way that it should have been handled by the first moderator who encountered the issue.
16 is too big, but it was still nice to play with some of you guys nonetheless.
Had fun last night. Broke off into a small room with CHAOS. Hog Wars with 7 or 8 is a blast. No matter how many time you die, there is always a Hog for you when you respawn LOL.
I hear you. People on the site should know better. We should be above that nonsense.
Had a good time last night. Now I'll just have to make my drinks before hand.
I'm up for joining in the carnage if there is space. Just got H4 yesterday. MUCH prefer private rooms to matchmaking.
