Hey there iv just moved from useing assists in game and to useing a manual gear box and well tbh i can see the pros to use it this way but on the down side im also findng it very frustrating and what to turn them all back on but dont if that makes sence so fell this might jsut be what i need
hope someone can help coz im really not enjoyng the game like id like to now
My suggestion is that you switch back to automatic gearbox, and run a few laps with the abs and tcs on, and then you turn off the abs, run a few laps with that so you get comfy. then you switch to the maual gearbox.
the most important thing is that you have fun along the way when you do it.
And if you see me online, dont hesitate, send me a message, and i will race with you.
And I'm looking to enter the driving school so some dates and times would be nice although the help is most greatful :-)
I can sort out a date and time later. I have taken you out on track a couple of times now so just work on what i have already shown you. Work on your corner entry speed and hitting the apex. Slow and steady.
As was suggested to you, try the rivals or the leaderboards, pick someone that is 1 or 2 seconds faster than you and follow them around the track, before you know it you will beat their time and move on to the next one. Pick slower cars to start with, the D350 Ford Ka that i sent you is a good car to start off with.
I know you have heard it a lot already from everyone but its all down to seat time and running lap after lap.
The best time to get experience is on Wednesday Night Track night.
It runs from 8:00 PM BST till around 10:30PM BST
Its a fun event with no issues about helping people and having fun.
I'm also hosting a BTCC Shake Down Tomorrow at 8:00PM BST. It will be at Silverstone and wont be for points or anything just an ice breaker for people to see how they are getting on. If you cannot jump in on race or track nights etc it will be a very long process of getting quicker.
Its no good just driving round on yourself as you wont know where to improve. We did have a few guys who could help with driving.
I maybe quick but:
A. I don't know why so cannot explain to people how to drive fast
B. I drive very aggressively and its not good for new guys :/
I have taken Viper on track twice already, also suggested and helped go into Tsukuba in a hot lap and run against a ghost that was slightly quicker than him, i think he gave it half a lap before he threw his dummy out, so his post at 21.53 was not long after that.
As for the BTCC he has a car which i built and tuned for him with a paint and i have taken him around Silverstone showing him what gear he needs to be in for each bend and where his apex's are.
So far i have helped him as much as i can to this point.
no ur right its not max or anyone else its me pushing my self to hard and beating my self up so im sorry i am geratful for all this help and i now this is not going to come over night but im finining it fustrating as hell :(
"DON'T GIVE UP !" I was in your shoes when Forza4 came out which is also the first Forza game i played . For months I would get lapped and lapped constantly . I tried everything your trying now and had the same reactions that you are having . If you quit now you will come back again and be back where you started square one . I am not the best driver here but maybe I can help if you would like . What I learned from the guys here at least for me is if you are trying to match there lap times your are always going to be questioning your own skill , try to make times within your progression . So if Max is putting out 1:28 on Silverstone Int don't try to get the same, it won't happen . not for you or for me at least not right now. I've been playing since this game first came out and I have gone from being 12 to 10 seconds behind the leaders to now being 3 to 4 seconds behind. So if you really enjoying playing this game which from your anger it seems like you do lets go on to the track and see what we can do to make your experince a litlle more enjoyable. Send me a FR( InkaB0DpaiN) . The letter "O" is the number zero.

Viper, dont stress hard. It takes a lot of time before you become as good as max. Dont worry worry about tuning. Take the tune max gives you and do lots of laps, be consistent first. You will be able to go faster if you run consistent.
Sage words from Grimm, "You go faster if you stay on the track" Hang in there and ask questions. Shoot me a FR
I am considering some instruction if you think you can help. I have quickened considerably but I feel like I'm banging a wall at the moment. Braking has always been a weakness of mine, maybe start there? After that probably just some work on proper line. My shifting and such is pretty good, traction controls pretty comfortable. Just wanna go faster.

I will catch up with you at some point Oldschool so we can go over when and where
After last nights shakedown i realized that even i need to sign up for a few driving lessons. And i also have a request, can i get the things i need to practice on, written down in a pm or xbl message? The reason is that i have a concentration disorder which makes it more easy for me to remember things that i got on paper, than just vocal info.

No problem. I will catch up wioth you later as well to arrange a time, it will probably end up on the weekend sometime.
Hey Martin, where do you think you are having issues? Is it track knowledge (statying on the track)? Is it missing apexes? Is it corner entry/exit issues? This will help understand where we can help focus your efforts.

Hi GrimGrnninGhost
I can drive with no assists up to R1.
And drive most of the time clean laps.
On most tracks around 6 seconds slower than the best lap time.
I feel the most at home on short tracks like Tsukuba Circuit.
At the Rival with R3 EVO on Tsukuba Circuit is the best I did 56.904
A liitle more than 1 second slower than the best lap for the Rival.
I strugle when entering a race with live compatitors.
Recovering from one of the many hits still is a problem.
This was the reason I did hot laps most of the time until now.
I do not know a lot about tuning.
Did use tunes from others.
I hope to learn better controll.
What I learned was trail and error.
Hope I can learn somthing more here :)
Maybe detect some bad habbits.
Also have some problems with breaking espesialy with muscle car,s.
I mentiond no assists but thats not treu I use the breaking indication line. I want to get rid of that, maybe only use it for testing, I sometimes get problems when a rival blocks the breaking indication. So I have to learn a other way to determain breaking points.
I think I am in between [1] New to Racing: and [2] Advanced Racer .
Some of the terms from New to Racing are new to me,
for instance
what is Skid control and * Track awareness
but for most things intresting things are in Advanced Racer.
Sounds like you are looking to improve your racecraft. hot lapping is one thing but racing in a crowd is completely different. Problem is you wont learn it in the public lobbies. That said, get involved on some of the FM4 events we have running. You will find the quality is much different. We really try very hard to race clean. Unfortionitly, Im without FM4 right now so I cant help but others should be abelt to assist you.
As there is not much racing tonight we can arrange something after 9pm BST if this suits you
Thanks.
I'll see if there's anything going on tonight and get back to you.

Also you need to specify a date and time you can race?
I noticed you havent really asked as in
"Hey Max can you be on at 8:00pm BST on Saturday and help me run a few please?"
Also make sure you watch all the videos here:
http://www.2old2play.com/forum/divisions/2old4forza/racing-101-very-helpfull-topic-i-racing-driving-school-video-series-50401
I know they are for iRacing but they apply to all racing on any game and in real life.
Last post I promise.
Have you requested any tunes yet?
I don't think I have seen you ask in the BTCC topic. If you need some please ask and a few of us will send them over to you.
Cheers

Viper. I'll be sending you a FR.
So who is the driving instructor since nether instructor is on?
There is still a couple of us that can help
I can be available if someone needs help. I am on EST but I work nights. If anyone wants to make an appointment just send me a PM here or on XBL.

Playing with forza 4 for some months now.
Most time practising hot laps, don't know where I stand.
What is the best thing to learn next.
