More Crow

Here are a couple of more images from the Crow's Nest suite.

This fuel tank ultimately became the fuel bomb that gets detonated to blow up the base. This is what it looked like when I first created it. When they repurposed it they just stuck a bunch of detonator crap on it.

Here are some UNSC missles and missle racks. These can also be seen strewn about other levels such as The Storm, Floodgate, and The Pit.

Get Back to Crates!

Once I finished the High Ground Suite, it was back to making the crates. Up next on my list was a suite of crates for The Crow's Nest level. Known internally as Base, this hideaway environment is similar to High Ground in theme.

First up is refrigeration. These sit around plugged into walls. Fairly boring but here you go. Oh, I signed my name to the inspection schedule.

High Ground Part 2

Here is part two of the High Ground content for today.

This is the bunker hatch. Originally this was supposed to blow up, swing down and fall off the hinge but it was scaled back to just blowing and swinging down. After the beta it was decided that it should be scaled up so that it is easier to get in and I struggled with the map artist on that when I made it originally. Yeah!

High Ground Part 1

Welcome to day two of my Halo 3 works. Next in the chronology is High Ground objects. These were high priority to get done for the Alpha. 1st up is the gate. The gate went through several iterations and ended up with what you see in the game now. I had no concept art for any High Ground objects so these are all of my own design including animations.

My Works Day 1

As I said when I started this blog, I will be unveiling my Halo 3 work here. Starting now! I hope to give you a couple of shots a day. Sometimes it will be two individual objects and sometimes it will be multiple shots of the same work. Sometimes there will be a theme if the work all goes together. In any event I will be showing you the work as it was created, chronologically.

Ground Breaking

I went to a ground breaking today. The Cleveland Indians are saying goodbye to the Grapefuit (spring training) League and moving to the Cactus League. My wife is an urban planner at the law firm representing the land owner for the Indians' new stadium. It's going to be right here in our little City of Goodyear, AZ. My wife was also a former city planner for the city. Anyway, the groundbreaking for the new training facility was today, or yesterday because it's now almost one in the moring.
