I Loved Halo 3 Campaign

Yes I realize this is a pointless blog from a true blue Halo fanboy but I felt compelled to share anyways.

Graphics : In my opinion the graphics have been turned up considerably since the Beta and everything has a nice texture to it that wasn't there before. It's still Halo, and no amount of graphics tweaking will change that, so comparing it to other great 360 titles like Gears is kind of silly IMHO.

The Power of A Mother

During the August LAN, I had the pleasure of spending a pretty good amount of time with JollyRoger (Jim), his wife Stacy, and their incredibly adorable daughter Megan.  Megan, as most of you know, has an extremely rare and strange disease.  And yet, I was absolutely taken with her from the first moment I saw her.  Megan's favorite beverage is Gatorade (Orange if I remember correctly) and she drank it through most of the weekend - Jim and Stacy explained that it kind of helps balance her out when she goes through tired spats.

Halo 3 Reaction

I've been playing the game 3 nights straight for about 2 hours apiece, so without giving too much away (you can probably figure out where I am)...

I LOVE YOU CORTANA!!!

There!  I'm all better now... :)

Hope

Tuesday I received some encouraging news regarding a recent interview, enough for some guarded optimism that I may get an offer.

I found it amazing how that little piece of news just opened up my entire day.  All of a sudden the oppressive nature of my current job didn't seem all that bad.  I walked to the train station through a rainy and dreary late afternoon and all I could think about was how fresh the air smelled.  I was relaxed, I had some measure of confidence in myself back.

John 117 Mowing his Lawn

I was reading a newspaper article a few years back reviewing Star Wars Episode II - Attack of The Clones, and I think what the guy said is really true.  When you get this deep into a series (5th installment at that time for Star Wars and 3rd now for Halo not counting the books) you really don't care what's going on in the story - the fact that your favorite character is on screen is all that matters.  The writer said that if George Lucas decided to show Obi-Wan Kenobi mowing his lawn for two hours, we would all happily get in line and shell out $10 to see it.

I tend to agree.
