Look At Me I'm Podcasting

DSmooth invited me to sit in for the absent Codemonkey during this week's episode of 2old2type. So head over to the Front Page or Itunes to download Episode 122 to hear me throw down the gauntlet for Mr. Smooth. Is he truly a god? Then "prove it" I said. Check out the podcast for details.

"Bizarre" Octopuses Carry Coconuts as Instant Shelters

Keeping with my recent theme of "wierd shit happens in the water", I cam across this story via the National Geographic web page while researching news for the WTF segment of this week's episode of 2old2type (I am guest hosting with DSmooth once again).

Octopuses have been discovered tip-toeing with coconut-shell halves suctioned to their undersides, then reassembling the halves and disappearing inside for protection or deception, a new study says.

Interview With Mommy's Best Games in Editing Phase

I had the opportunity to sit down via Skype last night and interview Nathan and Amy Fouts of Mommy's Best Games. This dynamic duo are behind some amazing indie games on XBLA & XNA (the Indie Games Showcase on XBL), including Weapon of Choice, Shoot1Up and the soon to be released Grapple Buggy. I met Amy and Nathan during PAXEast and was able to log in some playtime on Grapple Buggy. If you have not had a chance to play any of their games, definitely check out Weapon of Choice and Shoot1up, available for 400 and 80 Microsoft points respectively.

Gone Fishing - And All I Caught Was This Wierd Ass Critter

Got up at 5 am to go fishing this morning. I went out to Boston Harbor with my fishing buddy Sean. Our goal was flounder, but what I got was pretty much a rather damp workout. When we headed out the weather was pretty nice. Sunshine and a brisk, but not overpowering, breeze.
